Nelson vs Harris Debate
I watched about a half hour of it. She was telling so many lies and smiling after each one that I got disgusted and turned it off. I thought that I would be amused but it was merely pathetic.

3. Nelson won as far as I watched.
He is a "conservative" Dem and will win if the vote is not cheated by the RW. I guess in FL a liberal wouldn't have much of a chance in garnering any Natl. public office.

2. Tweety was NOT in control of the conversation..it was ALL Katherine
ALL the time..and Nelson did an okay job...he just let her self destruct...and called her on her lies...but she was just a jawboning the whole debate.

6. Indeed he was, thus he should have been in contol of the conversation
it was more like a bunch of drunks around a table and harris was the drunkest and talked the most. It was not Question/Answer/Rebuttal..it was question...answer...Nelson...harris harris harris...then Tweety would ask Nelson a question...harris would intrrupt and Tweety allowed it.

Sorry..he was pathetic (Russert)

8. Chris MATTHEWS is nicknamed Twetty

Etymology of "Tweety". During Campaign 2000 the media noise machine was swooning over the nicknames Shrub was giving some of them. Media Whores Online ran a contest to nickname Chris MATTHEWS. In the first 3 or so weeks, there was no clear, catchy front runner, with "The Screamer" sort of leading. Then one of MATTHEWS's own Hardball staff leaked to MWO that they themselves called him "Tweety" because of the Clairol shade he favored. This was immediately declared the winner. But in some quarters, it wasn't entirely satisfactory. For one thing, by the time the name was declared, the shade had changed to platinum, leading to a suggestion he be called "Carole LOMBARD". Plus, "Tweety" sounded too affectionate. Then M-TV held it's 20th or 25th anniversary, and all the cable echo chambers were doing segments of Britney shedding her duds down to almost nothing. Not to be left behind, Tweety followed suit, with a guest from Time Mag, the young humor columnist, Joel STEIN. The staff kept re-running the Britney clip, and Tweety was clearly DROOLING disgustingly. STEIN said, "You're beginning to creep me out." Tweety responded, "Yeah, well, wait till YOU're 50." This led to the suggestion that "Tweety" be modified to "Tweezer" to retain the hair reference while canceling out the affection factor and also adding the (dirty old) "geezer" angle.

10. You are correct, but those pink, sweaty, bald, pundits all start to look alike
and I do not do cable-news (except C-Span)..so seldom see them together-has anyone seen them together? ...I was confused. You are correct.

11. LOL, I don't disagree
and I'm cable challenged, to boot.

Do you know if parts of the debate have been posted at youtube yet? I want to view the train wreck. ;)

13. I thought is was because
he looks like he was separated from Tweety Bird at birth. Seriously, look at a picture of them side-by-side.

9. Considering the blowout this "race" will be
I have to wonder why Pumpkinhead and his GE overlords thought it was a good use of valuable air time? It's not like there would be anything said that couldn't be gathered from a hundred other orifices of the mighty Republican Wurlitzer. Harris will attract sub-freezing numbers (below 32). Nelson just had to not bite the head off a live bat to maintain his double digit poll lead.

And yet someone at NBC said "This here's some goooooood programming!"

12. It was mainly boring.
Nelson and Harris have zero charisma. She only gets press because she is such a sleaze and a dolt. Nelson is almost a Moderate Repug. He will win big unless the machines are rigged.
