1. No and it doesn't have anything to do with being smart or not |

You think that Mr. Jones called them up and forewarned them? Let's be real. He even said he hadn't even forewarned Haggard. Sheesh. Why do so many people have to see planning behind everything. Sometimes things just happen.

He hasn't been bundled off to rehab and is giving pathetic interviews in his car.

3. I seriously doubt it! KKKarl would have paid Jones off to shut him up! |

I'm positive there are somefinancially comfortable ex-military folks hanging around who were in Shrub's unit back when he went AWOL. That's why you never hear anyone sayingthey servied in Ala. with him.

4. No. I subscribe to the what goes around, comes around theory. |

In other words, People that think everyone is stealing from them usually can not be trusted. People who think everyone is lying to them are usually liars. People who are the worst homophobes tend to be closet gays.
The conservatives tend to be their own worst enemies.

5. No, they simply had nothing |

They likely were covering all Kerry's speeches - he has been the most consistently outspoken critic of the Republicans, especially taking on the task of protecting the vets. He also is as responsible as anyone on changing the opinion on Iraq. (The facts on the ground themselves did more.)
I assume they would have run this week with something and that it would involve Iraq. Kerry has constantly spoken of being sure to criticise the war not the warriors - but it is very easy to take a comment that the war is going poorly and imply that he is saying the troops didn't do a good job. It didn't even have to be a flub - that just made it more embarrassing for Kerry.
I assume they wanted to take out one of the stronger anti Bush spokesman and a possible 2008 foe while creating a fake issue - remember what they did with all the Democrats prior Iraq comments on veterans day 2005?
