the OP question. thinking back to Gannon/Guckerts web site in which he offered himself up as a male escort with graphic photos of himself and he was working in the WH press room at that time. I will assume you recall the very lengthy and detailed threads here by so many other DU'rs who wondered also about what Gannon was doing in the WH and the breaking of the story about his backround. I'm not interested in a flame war.I think it was clear that I was hypothisizing a few ideas, including the one about blackmailing congressmen for votes that looks to have been erased.Can we not think aloud via type here anymore?

There's no evidence that they're connected to each other, though.

Both Gannon/Guckert and the prostitute hired by Haggard advertised themselves as escorts on the web -- they have that in common. But in my view, Gannon/Guckert remains a GOP Ho, while the guy who was hired by Haggard did an admirable thing in coming forward according to his conscience.

(For the record, I have no criticism of gay sex or of sex work; the crime here, as I see it, is misleading the public, duping people in order to misguide them, and heaping hefty helpings of hypocrisy on top of lies, lies, and more lies.)

for anyone who has experienced a form of discrimination this kind of hypocrisy really touchs a nerve. It does for me. My son's housemate is gay. I have to say I asked him if he was okay with this and was proud of his answer. That I raised a son who is open minded and politically intelligent at his young age I am very proud of. But the thing is, the form of discrimination my younger son, his dad and I dealt with for the past 4 years comes and goes and we have some control of it. But the gay community has had to suffer this all their lives and people like Haggard and Gannon make it tougher when they could do some good instead..
