Charles Taylor______ THE Pro-Life Choice for Congress
Charles Taylor, (Western NC) has been our representative since 1991 and last week Laura came to stump for him---invitation only, of course. This is THE main issue for people in our area, evidently. Today's newspaper had this big ad for him. There were small heart icons by each statement. Taylor has used the word "shame" over and over for Shuler (late on paying taxes) and even had a woman say she would wash out his mouth with soap. I find Taylor's use of abortion for political power not only shameful, but obscene!

* Charles Taylor supports legal protection for unborn children, and opposes abortion on demand.

* Charles Taylor opposes partial-birth abortion, and voted for the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.

* Charles Taylor voted against using your tax dollars to pay for abortion.

* Charles Taylor cosponsored and voted for a bill to require an abortionist to notify at least one parent before performing an abortion on a minor girl from another state.

* Heath Shuler did not answer the National Right to Life questionnaire (no heart icon for him)

This was paid for by the the Right to Life, PAC and authorized by Charles Taylor for Congress Committee

issue.

Parental notification can be fixed to protect those who need protection from their parents, otherwise it IS a reasonable requirement and Pro-Choicers who are 100% absolutists on this aspect of the issues are ***just protecting their jobs***.

We also need to talk about definitions of "health of the mother", especially in late term abortions. What are we talking about here? 50:50 chance of changing the mother's health by a factor of _____ ?? 40:60? 30-70? 10-90?

I AM Pro Choice, but I see no reason why some (very few Probably) women with little more than emotional consequences from an unwanted pregnancy can't have the child and give it up for adoption instead of having late-term abortions. I don't think such cases are the norm when it comes to late-term abortions, but they'd at least be a start toward talking to Pro-Lifers about THEIR justifiable issues with abortion.

2. Yes, but what bothers me is this ad for Taylor is ALL about abortion
He demonizes Shuler and politicizes this one issue.

3. Well, at this point it IS their single most unifying issue.

But when asked point-blank, some of them admit that anti-Abortion and Pro-War is a lie, or at least a mistake.

The fact that it IS their single most unifying issue means that it is time for us to go after it and MAKE A DEAL!!
