Take the Leave DU Pledge!
On election day...

I am in the red-est county in Battleground Missouri. I have a list 9 pages long of Dem voters to call/transport. I have the day off Tues Nov. 7th. I will not post one damn thing on this board from 6am to 7pm on Tuesday!

Will you take the ban DU pledge?

All endorsements of this pledge must:

2. What about paging from your phone or laptop when you're out and
telling everyone about what you are seeing.

3. People can call from home, too. Get a list from your local Dem HQ -
that is, if they know you well enough. If not, then go work a phone bank. But if you can you can post at DU while you're making calls.

No wasted minutes allowed.

10. I call & post
I don't have any elections that are tight enough to divert me from the ones that are. So I'm either doing Moveon calling, or direct calling for whoever wants to email or fax me phone numbers. But I can call and take DU breaks at the same time.

and Tuesday. I've got a few medical appointments to attend to beforehand.
The rest of my "free" time (what little remains) will be spent here keeping watch; a commitment here at DU that I can't abandon. :)

I hope to have much to celebrate with fellow DUers when I finally get home from our county Democratic HQ on Election Night.

I will kick this post willingly. :kick:

16. You got it...
Though I read DU daily, I don't post a lot-my pledge may be stronger in utterance than deed. Election Day is all about the door knock. Monday, too! Saturday was spent repeatedly hitting my thumb with a hammer putting up yard signs. I have removed myself from skilled labor positions-today was focused on putting cable ties on the signs while someone else used the hammer and sending our Senate District email.

Oh-and I told a guy I’d only go out with him if he voted Democratic on Tuesday. I’ll need something to do when I get my life back!

19. Me too
No posts from 5 am to 8 or 9 pm.
I want to make sure that the election is run properly in my precinct, so I am the one running it. After the polls close at 7 I still have to count the votes, call them in to the electoral board, post the results at the entrance of the polling place, and then drive the paperwork and pollbooks to the electoral board.

18. Good Luck! and....
I think we just got some other good news in Missouri.

St. Charles County was the place where the fix was in. We may not stop it all but we've put a damned big dent in the fix.

Traveling for business. I will be leaving the west coast about 3PM and will alnd in the eats about 11PM. In a way I am glad I will be away from the tube. It may save a few years of my life not watching the TV that night. Good luck though!

21. I won't be here
Unless it's really late, after the polls are closed.

Like you, I'll be driving voters to the polls in Missouri. Don't have actual assignments by name yet, but they told me I should report to a Kansas City "Project Victory" office tomorrow (Monday) at 3pm and find out where and when to go on Tuesday.

I live in Kansas and thought about helping Nancy Boyda or my own rep, Dennis Moore. But Dennis is probably safe. Nancy's got a good chance at pulling this one off, altho I don't know how much help she needs.

But in the end, I decided (assuming a fair count) we've got the House; it's the Senate we're shooting for.

I know, it's all good. :)

22. We really appreciate the help, too
Missouri and Kansas have had their differrnces, years and years ago (and each basketball season), but it is nice to have that Kansas help for this good cause.

Perhaps we can help all of you someday by helping you "to turn your Brown Back Blue" (hat tip to Crystal Gayle).

Be busy piling in totals. No time for chat.

There is no time like the present, y'all !!

And any of you who can be present outside the polling places, or available as "interested citizens", to watch the counting of the ballots in St. Charles County, PLEASE COME HELP!!

I'll explain on the 8th, but anyone close enough to slide on over to St Charles is NEEDED! With eyes WIDE OPEN!

Most important is to overwhelm the GOP people at the last (170th, I think) precinct at St. Peters. But check the papers.

Better yet, anyone who can and will, please PM me and I will connect you. For reasons you will sonn know, we need some real stout hearts down there that day!
