Revenge of the Machine: How electronic voting could Bite the Pukes
Edited on Tue Nov-07-06 10:39 AM by Sensitivity
I am looking forward to a landslide today, Rove-rigging or not.

The Republicans have done everything to they usually do to depress the
Democratic vote.

BUT, THEY ALWAYS DO THAT!

This year, despite all the worries about electronic voting, the Republicans
are denied, in most of the races, one big advantage they usually have -- the
ability to throw out votes after the fact -- "spoiled ballots."

Spoiled ballot are usually mostly DEMOCRATIC BALLOTS that are never counted
by the card or sheet scanners because of some minor error in marking the sheets
or punching the cards.

This year, the touch screen machines may give errors during voting, but at least
the interactive prompts may catch errors before the person leaves the booth --
No declaring ballots spoiled after the fact.

The one factor may mean the difference tonight.

1. Very good point.
There are advantages to the touch screen systems despite all the negative publicity (paranoia).

2. More important, vote fraud is being discussed in the MSM and out in
the country in an unprecedented way. It's tougher to steal votes when people are EXPECTING you
to steal votes.

Voters are going to the polls expecting problems. They are armed and ready. Compare today's election
to 2004 - the public is now much more aware of the reality of vote fraud than they were only two years ago.

Unless Rove has devised an entirely novel way of stealing votes that nobody has thought of, it
will be much more difficult for them to steal it this time around.

3. Election Day holiday would be the biggest Repub disaster. Hope
Dems can pass that -- and just watch Bush try to veto it.
