My Friend, Max: James Boyce on Max Cleland
A good election day read at HuffPo:

So you, or someone you know, is having a bad day. The kids were a disaster this morning. The dog puked in the car. Your boss is insane. Your better half just frankly isn't and all of a sudden, it's the middle of the afternoon and you haven't voted yet.

Please remember my friend and inspiration Max Cleland.

Max has been all around the country in his wheelchair, his back-up wheelchair, the narrow wheelchair he has to use to get through smaller doors and his other back-up wheelchair. His staff, Michael Duga and Jeremy, have gotten him in and out of cars and in and out of events every day for weeks. Veteran candidates have called and called and called, "can Max come?" The answer is always the same, 'yes.'

Please remember my friend Max when you call a friend and they say they haven't voted yet. Because they need to clean the living room.

3. Thank you for posting.
Max Cleland is the epitome of an American patriot and his determination to see that Democratic candidates are elected should be an inspiration for us all. Thank you for posting these beautiful words about an incredible human being.

4. Never forget what Saxby Chambliss and the GOP did to Max Cleland.
There are Georgians who believe that Max Cleland suffers from self-inflicted wounds - grave wounds used to get out of Viet Nam - because that is what slick, rich, Chicken-hawk Saxby Chambliss told them. If ever there was a political office ill-gotten on rank lies and disingenuous innuendo, it is the US Senate seat of Saxby Chambliss.

God Bless our dear Max Cleland and keep him strong to, perhaps, fight another day.

5. Oh, Max
We miss you. He may be out of office, but he's still working hard. It doesn't surprise me a bit. I admire the heck out of him.
