This is just a simple list of the failures George W. Bush and his Republican Congress have foisted on the American people. Please add anything you think I've left out.

It looks suspiciously like we've gone sharply downhill as a nation...

Habeus corpus.
Detainee abuse.
Pre-emptive war.
The trade deficit.
The national debt.
The federal deficit.
Outing Valerie Plame.
Suppression of science.
The aftermath of Katrina.
Empowerment of enemies.
Creation of untold terrorists.
Alienation of traditional allies.
Subversion of the electoral process.
Perversion of the legislative process.
Overlooking system of checks and balances.
Undermining Constitutional separation of powers.
Allowing global warming to intensify at crucial time.
Refusing to fund stem cell research as millions suffer.
Enriching a small group of oil and petrochemical interests.
Appointing unqualified cronies in order to discredit governance.
Glibly estimating civilian deaths in Iraq at "30,000, give or take."
Signing statements that undermine laws even as they're signed into law.
Referring to the Iraq war and the death of our American soldiers as a "Comma."
"Not really thinking about" Bin Laden, the terrorist responsible for the 911 attacks.


What lies ahead? An uphill battle to turn this nation back towards its roots.

3. His first election was unconstitutional because both Cheney and Bush lived in the same state at the time they declared their candidacy.

4. Cheating with an ear piece at the debate in 2004.

5. Refusing to release Energy Task Force meeting notes, at which Cheney and oil companies discussed the Invasion of Iraq and divying up the oil fields (see judicial watch for some documents including the maps with oil company names on certain fields)

6. Appointment of countless officials who are unqualified for their jobs, putting countless lives at risk. (bush, brownie, condi, rummy, chertoff, snow, mcmoonface, etc)

7. Politicizing Terri Schiavo's life and death for political gain.

8. Facilitating lobbyist corruption at the expense of Native American tribes, and to the benefit of Jack Abramoff and friends.

9. Was at least aware of the document forgeries regarding the Italian Embassy break-in and Niger Yellow cake Docs, that in part led this nation to war.

10. Refused to sign Kyoto protocol.

11. Cutting taxes for the rich during a war chosen by the rich but fought by the poor and lower middle class.

12. Destruction of our National Guard by blatant misuse and overuse.

13. Tried to decommission the Hubble because the science it showed in part debunked creationism's time line.

14. Had a daughter that looks JUST like him, which just plain freaks me out.

15. Refusing to demand accountability and consequences for his Vice President when he SHOT a man while drinking, failed to report the incident to police in a timely fashion, lied about the circumstances of the crime, then sought to cover up the crime.

16. Created No Child Left Behind, which destroys much of what is left in public education that works, and allows military recruiters access to our children.

17. Failing to catch Bin Laden.

18. Stacking the court with unqualified wingnuts. John Roberts, now our CHIEF JUSTICE, has TWO YEARS of judicial experience. I guess they nominated Miers so ANYONE would seem qualified after that.

19. Continued to exacerbate the ongoing, senseless 'War on Drugs'.

20. Signed a law giving billions to friends to build the border fence.

22. Attacks on gay rights.

23. Attempts to abandon the Voting Rights Act.

24. Allowing a gay prostitute to blackmail someone in the White House into a press corps job.

25. Allowing a meth addict and closeted purveyor of prostitutes to advise him weekly on the Evangelical perspective.

26. Riding a segway.

27. Chewing a pretzel.

28. Violated Geneva Conventions.

29. Used Depleted Uranium munitions in civilian areas.


Just off the top of my head. I'm sure I could do three or four hundred if I sat down.
