Palm Beach Co, FL: Record early-voting & absentee turnout--- >110, 000 out of 760,000 reg voters
This is EXCELLENT NEWS!!!

There are reports of more than 60% turnout in some areas of South Florida as well. Weatherwise, it's overcast, but little or no rain.

I am hearing that if South Florida total turnout is 50% or over, Jim Davis is our new Governor!

Election Day off and running in Palm Beach County

Already, more than 110,000 people cast ballots in Palm Beach County before the polls opened at 7 this morning.

A record 59,727 people voted during the 14-day early voting period -- including almost 7,000 who showed up the final day, Sunday.

Anderson credited the expansion to 15 early-voting sites and the mostly wait-free voting experience for the boost.

An additional 50,579 people turned in absentee ballots.

Buoyed by the brisk early turnout and a slew of closely contested races, Anderson stretched his turnout prediction from 40 percent to 50 percent. The primary drew only 15 percent of the county's roughly 760,000 registered voters.

"I think with the controversy over the war in Iraq, the fact that control of Congress and the U.S. Senate are hanging the balance, the governor's race -- it's generating a significant amount of interest that could take it up to the 50 percent mark," Anderson said.
