1. 300-odd caucuses...
...and the state Democratic offices have a total of four phone lines.

It took half an hour to call in the results of my caucus.

5. From the Dean Blog
Just heard from Dean office in Maine..initial, i repeat, initial reports looks like Dean and Kuchinich both got enough delegates to challenge Kerry but Icabod Kerry currently has more than Dean..No matter what, it was another Strong Showing for the Governor..let's remember,
18%-Iowa
26%-NH
30%-WA
35%? ME (that's a guess)...Keep it going! WE CAN DO IT...WE ARE DOING IT!! WE WILL DO IT..ON TO BOSTON!

13. Ichabod Crane.

"He was tall, but exceedingly lank, with narrow shoulders, long arms and legs, hands that dangled a mile out of his sleeves, feet that might have served for shovels, and his whole frame most loosely hung together. His head was small, and flat at top, with huge ears, large green glassy eyes, and a long snipe nose, so that it looked like a weather-cock, perched upon his spindle neck, to tell which way the wind blew. To see him striding along the profile of a hill on a windy day, with his clothes bagging and fluttering about him one might have mistaken him for the genius of famine descending upon the earth, or some scarecrow eloped from a cornfield."

Washington Irving (1783–1859). Rip Van Winkle & The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. http://www.bartleby.com/310/2/2.html

10. I was caucus chairman in Kenduskeag
All 5 of our particpants backed Howard Dean. (Really!)
We're a really tiny town about twenty miles north of Bangor. 61 democrats in town, 5 showed up. We only get 1 delegate to the state convention. But Dean got 100% here. :-)

17. Hey, I was caucus secretary up the road from you in Dexter
Our votes were 10 for Kerry, three for Kucinich, three for Dean, two for Edwards and two for Clark.

Now I know 20 is a small number for a caucus, but there were only two people at the last one. You had a much better showing percentage-wise though. We have about 600 plus Democrats in town. I was a little disappointed with the turnout, but oh well...We all had a great time though. Are you going to the convention in May?

16. well, i know for fact that Dennis has at least one delegate so far, ME
My district had three delegate slots available.
Kerry got 1
Edwards got 1
and Dennis got 1

mine is a pretty small town, less than 2000 people.
There were 33 residents in attendance and a few absentee ballots.

So, yeah, i'll be in Portland come May for Dennis. Woo Hoo!
