Shouldn't Someone Give "Macaca" A Medal Of Honor
After all, with his unrelenting, diligent camerawork, an argument can be made that he played a big role in our recapturing the Senate.

If you're reading this, S.R. Sidarth, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

2. If George Allen hadn't said that word that day,
...he'd been on his way to White House in 2008, and Republicans would control the US Senate this January.

4. Not a nice word

Well, 'macaca' is the French word for nigger. It's going to hurt Allen if he doesn't disappear fast.

5. i agree, the medal. but we must stop putting that word on DU.
what if allen had used 'the n word'? would we all be using it constantly on DU?
this word is just as vile and just as vicious and hurtful.

i'm sorry to single out your thread for this comment, as i have not done so on every thread it's used on. i have started doing so wherever i see it, now. i appreciate that you put it in quotation marks, and i realize that it is, in fact, an accurate quote. but we would not use it, even in that way, if the original quote had been that n word.

please help me stop its being displayed all over DU?
thank you.

peace

6. that's why I put it in quotes
and you have to remember, Sidarth used it himself in his famous three word essay to get into Sabato's political science course.
