If we don't investigate and hold this administration accountable....
in the eyes of the world, we are no better than the Republicans. We will have become co-conspirators and partners in their crimes. They will not differentiate between them and us.

4. Just exploring another aspect of the brouhaha.
They'll be investigations...how can they possibly avoid them? This whole "Impeachment Off the Table" is political theater by the pros. Of course it's off the table...until it is on the table.

The point of my OP is, we have to hold investigations...if we don't clear our good name, who will? To many people of this world, we have commited war crimes. If we choose to gloss over these crimes, we are complicit. We didn't want to do them, but we did them, and we won't do a damn thing about it. The world won't care whether we are Democrats, Republicans, or couch potatoes.

2. yep-- as long as criminals remain in power all America is complicit...
...in their crimes. This election was only a first step toward reclaiming democracy and decency in America.

3. Whoever said we won't investigate
With Conyers, Waxman, and Rangel as committee heads I can bet you there will be more investigations than we will know what to do with for the next two years.

Jeezus, it's only been what? fifteen minutes since the election?

take a deep breath dude.

We won, celebrate a little before you get upset that you can't get everything you want, instantaneously.

This isn't exactly about ordering your fast food when you're high off your ass at 3:00 in the morning

8. Hellz NO!
I've been duking it out with the Corporatista wing of the party since before 2k.

Veteran Deaniac, I was a Dean delegate to the Pierce County convention in 04.

They got an earful from me, I tell you what.

9. I'm with you on this. But let's make sure we investigate worthwhile stuff and

not get into the kinds of crap that made the Repos look so petty and desperate.

We need to pick our battles, or we will pass up an historic opportunity to demand and receive some accountability.

A few areas I would like investigated:

Cooking the intel that led to war in Iraq.

Corruption, oil price gouging, pay to play.

Manipulating science for political purposes.

Election suppression and manipulation;

A real investigation into 9/11.

Government sposored propaganda.

A few areas I could do without:

Closet gay hypocrisy, (such as the Gannon thing)
Minor ethics infractions (illegal alien employees, other small time shit.)

I think investigations and accountability should focus on one area at a time, get it done pretty fast, and make recommendations.

We don't need multiple open ended shotgun investigations, but focused and non-competing investigation. Let's not repeat the mistakes of the Repos in the 90's.

10. No need for fishing expeditions.
No bogus land deal scandals or penis depositions. We've got plenty of real hardcore crime and corruption to investigate without resorting to unsubstantiated rumors.

11. There are going to be investigations of corruption.
They are just not going to try to impeach. I think that is right.

12. With investigations, we will heat the ice all around Bush/Cheney
so they will eventually end up in the chilling waters of long-deferred Justice.
