Family awaits details of death

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- A Marine less than two months into his deployment was killed Tuesday in Iraq, family members said.

Marine Lance Corporal Ryan McCaughn, 19, was a 2005 graduate of Central High School. Relatives said they were waiting for details from the military about how he died.

"I just can't believe it," said his mother, Nicole Cote of Manchester. "It's not supposed to happen this way. Your kids aren't supposed to leave you."

War of choice. Two months in and like that he's gone. The green hadn't even worn off yet. Dead to either a snipers bullet or a roadside bomb.

God bless him and his family. What he did was noble, but unfortunately, his good intentions are not the president, he'll send fathers, mothers, sons, daughters, friends into combat as long as they aren't his father, mother, son, or daughter or those of his friends.
