Scarborough discussing this on MSNBC with Buchanan and AB Stoddard. Buchanan thinks Gingrich has strongly moved into the field.

3. Romney has got to be the biggest jerk of them all.
Has he ever once thought of one single idea on his own, or questioned one aspect of his misguided party? No. He waits to see what guys like Bush,McCain, and Frist think then says the same thing so people will know who he is. Thank god he won't be governor anymore, and thank god even more that he is being succeeded by a democrat. That oughta put that stupid son of a bitch in check.

6. Yes! We want Gingrich up there...
he will keep the corrupt magnet front and center and be a great turn out for values voters: who doesn't love a guy that serves divorce papers on his cancer recovering wife while she's in the hospital.

8. Will the fundies accept a mormon?
Romney that is.

McCain would be formidable, but I dunno if the "base" will accept him, he is also oooold.

Gingrich is a fucking joke, any dem can kick his ass.

15. Pataki is probably a bigger threat
as a GOPher candidate than Romney. He's well liked in NY and an old school, country club Republican. That won't endear him to the "base" but would get him those middle of the road Reps and some "independents". (Why do I dislike that term? Maybe it's because it's like "libertarian" - "I'm going to wait and see who's going to grease my palm before I support them").

11. So because Scarborough said it, that makes it so?
I'm not so sure about that.

I think we should not believe that this will be the extent of it. I still believe in a "December suprise" announcement......

Stay tuned!

12. No, it doesn't make it so
But these are guys on the right who know what's going on in their own Party. We all know Gingrich wants it and is dumb enough to think he has a shot.

13. Really not much there when you think about it.
The cult of Bush has taken all of the media oxygen out of any other leadership in the Party. Where's the farm system? I guess it really doesn't exist. They are forced to go with the same tired 2nd fiddle faces. Each has its own unique baggage, sure to turn off key segments of the base. Compare that with dozens of well qualified, respected leaders and rising stars in the Democratic Party.

My guess for 2008? Arnold Schwarzeneggar.

14. Gingrich! Yeah, baby.
Let that loser get the nomination. We'll eat him for lunch. I doubt the Repukes will nominate a Mormon. And McCain is going to be unhappy with the way the right goes after him.

I don't see any of them getting the nomination.
