Effectively, Lieberman controls the balance of power in the Senate. Since he will be sworn in as an independent, he can caucus with whomever he wants and there is not one damned thing anyone can do about it. Should he caucus with the Democrats? Yes. Should he be rewarded for being an arrogant, selfish son of a mangy female dog? Hell, no. But because the national party refused to support the ACTUAL CANDIDATE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY ELECTED IN THE PRIMARY, they have no choice but gush about how sweet Lieberman's farts smell.
