I think they are deciding now whether they will start using the microscope on Kerry after the nomination.
Is Kerry useful to them? Do they think they can get away with protecting Bush this time?
I think they may try to rescuse their credibility and side with Kerry.

The media is all bought and paid for by the Republicans and exists to promote their agenda. A Democrat winning the election is not a part of their agenda.

I'VE ADMIRED AND RESPECTED JOHN KERRY SINCE THE EARLY 70'S WHEN HE DID GREAT WORK FOR THE VIETNAM VETS, AND THE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE. HE HAD A BIG HAND IN EXPOSING REAGAN/BUSH/NORTH /CONTRA/etc. HOW MANY POLITICAL COMMENTATORS IN AMERICA WILL TRY TO TEAR HIM DOWN? THOUSANDS OF THE BASTARDS, AND YOU KNOW WHAT THEIR REASON WILL BE? BECAUSE HE'S AN HONOURABLE MAN, A MAN WITH INTEGRITY AND QUIET DIGNITY, WHICH IS SOMETHING THE MEDIA WHORES IN YOUR COUNTRY WILL NEVER HAVE OR BE. LOOK AT THE POLITICAL SCUM HE'S UP AGAINST, THEN MAKE UP YOUR MINDS - WHO DO YOU TRUST - JOHN KERRY AND DENNIS KUCINICH, OR GEORGE W.BUSH AND DICK CHENEY.
30 YEARS SERVICE TO AMERICA, AND JOHN'S STILL WORKING!

You might want to mellow out on the caps, though, it is considered 'shouting'.

the 1970's and 1980's Kerry was a man I can get behind.
I will not have any problem selecting Kerry if he is the one.
PS: Use less caps it is hard on the eyes and probably a rule violation.

It will be whenever the corporate media decides to call something he says or does a serious blunder. I feel like they are pretty much orchestrating this entire primary season. They will say Kerry has made a blunder whenever it suits their agenda.

12. The question is not phrased correctly... |
|
"When will the media make a serious event out of one of Kerry's blunders?"
Kerry has made some blunders - hell they all have. But, the media has not picked up on them. When they get tired of Kerry, then they will start to find issues to make into big blunders.

He's probably not going to make a major gaffe. That's just not how Kerry speaks. He's very controlled and very much in charge of his own thoughts and opinions.

could be making major gaffes every day. The only way a consensus develops is when the collective media publicize it, pile on, and question his judgment, character, or sanity. I can't think of a time when Chomsky's idea of "manufacturing consent" has been so clearly vindicated.
Seriously, I think Kerry has avoided a lot of controversial quotes positions. He's definitely a pro, and it has helped him in the primaries. Primary voters seem to value this. Whether the media will still do a Gore or Dean job on him -- even with less material to work with -- remains to be seen.

21. Yep. So far this primary has been shaped by... |
|
selective reporting.
Dean gets second in a state and gets no mention.
I hope Kerry, should he get the nomination, has enough pull in the power elites to keep the press off his back.
He does speak very carefully, so may not give enough rope to hold a press lynching like happened to Dean.

22. He will make a mistake |
|
Everybody does. It is how he handles it that will determine the election. Remember everyone said he was out of the race in December? What happened? In my opinion, the campaign helped to hone his message. He got better at campaigning (from what I heard on TV). When the media spotlight is on him, there will be perceived "gaffes" because that is what the media needs. However, he is disciplined and will not say dumb things all the time.
