2008 Senate Races
Two years is the proverbial lifetime but I guess it's not too early to have a look to see who's up in 2008. The way i see it, these might be most vulnerable Repuke seats --

CO - Allard
MN - Coleman (Go Franken Go!)
NM - Domenici
NC - Dole
NH - Sununu
OR - Smith
VA - Warner (open seat - retiring?)

3. KS-Roberts is up in 2008
and half of Kansas is now blue. Roberts has a lot of explaining to do about his duty as Intelligence Committee Chair. Or should I say, his lack of duty.

4. As someone from OR, I'm gonna work my ass of to unseat Pea Packer Smith
I want to make sure he is the last Republican from the West Coast.

But there's this Ted Stevens dude, too.

5. And the good thing is, Republicans have more seats to defend
So Democrats have more room to play offense. Just a few ideas on who would be good candidates for Democrats:

CO: Rep. Mark Udall has said he'll run here.
NM: Gov. Bill Richardson would be a good candidate
NC: If Lt. Governor Beverly Perdue jumps in this race, it will be tight.
NH: Jeanne Shaheen or John Lynch could defeat Sununu.
OR: Find the right Democrat to run and we can pick up this seat
VA: If John Warner retires and Mark Warner decides to run, then this one will be a pickup

6. Dole won't win re-election
here. Our Governor has his eye on that seat. He'll beat her by at least 8 points

8. Here are our seats we have to defend
Arkansas: Mark Pryor.

Delaware: Joe Biden, unless he retires to run for President. DE has a Dem Governor.

Illinois: Dick Durbin.

Iowa: Tom Harkin.

Louisiana: Mary Landreiu (will almost certainly be a GOP target).

Massachusetts: John Kerry, unless he retires to run for President again. MA has a Dem Governor.

New Jersey: Frank Lautenberg.

Michigan: Carl Levin.

South Dakota: Tim Johnson (will almost certainly be a GOP target).

West Virginia: Jay Rockefeller.
