What Does It Say If Hoyer Beats Murtha |
|
for majority leader? Is it a blow to Nancy Pelosi's control? Clearly Hoyer has a substantial amount of backing.

2. I doubt that Nancy is that inexperienced. |
|
I'm sure she counted votes before throwing her support behind Murtha.
As the new Speaker of the House, and presumptive leader of the Democratic Party, it would be viewed as a nearly fatal political mistake to openly support someone for a high post within the party only to have the party install a rival.

plenty of murmers that Murtha does not have a lock on this, and that there's a lot of support for Hoyer. Frankly, my vote is neither. Murtha not only gets a rating of 0 from NARAL, CREW lists him as one of four dems who made their list of the 20 most corrupt members of the house. Considering that corruption was the top concern of voters, this is not a great move. Hoyer is too closely tied to K street for my comfort.

But it looks to be between the two of them.
The CREW report on Murtha was disturbing, but it wasn't the worst thing I've ever read. I would prefer someone else... perhaps neither will get enough votes and they will have to turn to a compromise third candidate (as, I believe, how Hastert got the Speakership).

with the CREW report: It exists. Voters number one concern was corruption. The media will have a field day. Starting off on the defensive isn't ideal. I don't understand why she just didn't stand back and withold an endorsement from either of them.

4. Is she supporting one over the other, or just Murtha's candidacy? |

9. Just what should Hoyer be in cell for? |
|
And what is Murtha's record re taking AIPAC money? I haven't researched either. In any case, as strongly as you feel about AIPAC, I feel about choice and Murtha has a 0- that's right zero- rating from NARAL, not mention that he co-authored and sponsored the flag burning amendment to the freakin' constitution, and CREW names him as one of 4 dems who make their most corrupt list. So if you object to Hoyer on the grounds of corruption, you must also object to Murtha, right?

Accusing Hoyer of treason with no fucking evidence outside of a speech he gave, is bullshit of the worst kind. Beyond disgusting.
Oh, yeah what's the crap about being "King of the Jews"? Hopefully, it's just a lame joke and not a grand delusion.

Hoyer of being disloyal to the US is a serious charge which you obviously have no evidence for. Do you realize how many dem politicians take AIPAC money and speak in front of AIPAC? And do you even know if Murtha takes money from AIPAC? Do you know if he's ever spoken at an AIPAC gathering?
