Gomer Norquist
Why can I never get through to C-span anymore?

I want to give this asshole a piece of my mind. How did he ever get into a position of leadership in Washington? He has all the charisma of a skunk. He reminds me of members of the Communist Party I talked to back in the '70s, who were pushing a thoroughly discredited ideology, just like his.

I sincerely hope that when his indictment comes down the pike, he's convicted and gets the "Salad Tossing Guy" for a cellmate.

Who the fuck is he to define what a patriot is?

10. Invite him over for dinner
When he gets there, ask him if his car blew up on the way, if starving people were begging along the side of the road, if he needed to wear a gas mask to breath and if the road itself was dirt instead of pavement. When he says "no" to all those questions, explain to him what taxes are for. :D

16. :-) - Grover does not travel in the same circles that I do - but it is interesting
that while he lives in a rich area of Wellesley, Mass, his place, which was his Dad's place, is rather modest, worth under $2 million. His Dad was a simple mid-level corporate executive. He does not come from an extremely wealthy background, but he sure likes to kiss the wealthy ass.

Meanwhile I live in a much more modest part of the area - but I am a one block walk to the gas station, the booze store, a great breakfast at the Greek diner, dinners at a couple of inexpensive restaurants, and a 1/2 mile walk to the subway, other stores and many Churches and Temples - and the folk that live around here are retired union, retired teacher, and working folks in the various professions. I like my area better than his!

He should visit our area - but I am sure he never has.

18. opps - Slight error in the above - Grover is in Weston - not Wellesley
I hate it when the editing time has run out!

The road that I am on and which leads to the side road that leads to Grover's home changes to Town of Wellesley for about a half mile before becoming Town of Weston. But the real reason for the error was just yet another senior moment - sigh.... :-(

8. His background actually was CPUSA.
He was literally a Red Diaper Baby. He drifted to the New Left movement, and for reasons that had little relationship to "ideology", he broke with them (his friends from the Ramparts magazine). Scaife picked him up and bankrolled him. Think of him as a stalinist who reversed polarity, but is still a stalinist.

15. DANG!!!
I'd been following a David Horowitz dialog elsewhere, and somehow got my signals crossed! This isn't the first time I had screwed up by inattention, but NEVER so badlly! Out of my DEEP regard for my beloved DU community, I offer my sincere apologies! My (partial) excuse is that I haven't gotten my sleep patterns back in synch since Election Night.

17. Ah, wasn't he the one who predicted a permanent majority
and that we'd become like neutered farm animals, all docile and shit?

How's that workin' out for ya, Grover?
