14. Politics isn't about those issues.
Its about money. He's an economic conservative. That's the only thing the people running the Republican party really care about.

In the end their are realy only two types of people.
People either believe money is the driver or they believe that labor is.
This is a fundemental irreconcilable difference.
Ruddie is what he is.
The rest of the issues are just politcal posturing.
Its the old divide and conquer.
I probably dont feel the way you do on some or many of the issues you present. What I do think is that they shouldnt be issues.
Rudy does. Why?

17. He started out as a democrat but switched parties when Reagan got in
and he believed it was a good career move. Must have paid off because he was the head federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York and that in turn gave him the clout to run for mayor until he was finally elected.

20. He's an elitist...
which is why he's not only anti-gun-owner, but anti-civil-liberties in general. Remember "free speech zones"? Random, warrantless searches of people entering NYC subway stations? Part and parcel.

Guliani scares the bejeebers out of me, personally.

I can imagine the campaign photos with this picture in them.

Yes, that really is Giuliani dressed up as Maryln Monroe. There's also a video of Donald Trump kissing Rudy on his phony breasts. I doubt he'll make it past the first Repug state primary but It would be fun to run against him.

27. allow me to respond without the namecalling
Wow, calling Rudy names here is really going to help.......NOT!!!!

The Republicans in New York aren't as conservative as they are in Texas. Just like the Democrats in Oklahoma aren't as liberal as they are in Massachusetts. When you are a minority in a state you tend to want to find more of a middle ground instead of being too far to one side. It's a natural tendency to not get too far away from the majority opinions in your state. It happens on both sides (republicans and democrats).

29. Because party affiliation is taken as seriously as team loyalty in America.
Cubs fans don't root for the Sox, and Republicans don't become Democrats. Mostly.

Being a Republican leader requires a certain amount of denial, anyway.

32. The Republican/Democratic thing gets all screwed with NYC mayors.
Cases in point:

John Lindsey (Republican who acted like a Democrat)

Ed Koch (Democrat who acts like a Republican now, may even be one for all I know).

Bloomberg - former Democrat who still acts like a Democrat but runs as a Republican

And of course Giuliani.

33. He is very liberal on social issues:
Abortion, gay rights, gun control, immigration.

He is however, very pro-corporate, pro-security in favor of civil rights and would likely be a foreign policy hawk.
