I just haven't been doing enough to piss off the Freepers. I notice they are quick to attack a few DU pundits like Will Pitt and Kpete, but they haven't even deigned to notice myself or Nance Greggs, for that matter. At least, I haven't stumbled upon anything they've said recently about either of us. There's an old thread over there at FR where I was talking about some stupid comment by some RW asshat, but that's it.

I've written a few scathing commentaries about their heroes and their ideology and yet they've barely acknowledged my existence.

Reading some of the things the Freeper terrorist wrote about other sci-fi authors made me wonder what he would've thought about MY fiction. I think he might've blown a gasket (assuming he had any left) trying to figure out my politics from my novels. They're full of people (and other creatures) that play by their own rules, but protect the innocent and punish the guilty. Creatures of immense power who are ultimately human.

My mother-in-law is deliberately keeping my books away from her houseguest (she used to run a small nursing home but retired and took this one woman with her) because my antipathy to revealed religion is pretty obvious in my novels. I paint the monsters as the good guys and religious fanatics as either the bad guys, or the tools of the bad guys.

I'm SO bad. ;)

I hope someday to become famous enough that the RW loonies want to burn my books. I'm doing my best to piss them off, but obviously I'm not trying hard enough.
