What would our country be like?

If over the last 6 years we had a republican president with a democratic senate & congress: Would the patriot act still be in effect? Would we still be in the farce of the Iraq war? Would we have gone to war in Iraq? Would we be heading down the road of financial ruin with the crippling deficits? Would Alito & Roberts being elected to the supreme court? Would Gitmo still be in existence? Would we have passed laws to say it was okay to torture prisoners? Would we have the NSA who is spying on phone calls of American citizens & collecting a database of phone calls? Would North Korea have tested a nuclear weapon? Would Iran be testing nuclear technology? Would the world look at us as the enemy? Would we have a bankruptcy law written by the credit card companies? Would we have had a medicare bill that is confusing & more expensive to seniors? Would more jobs have stayed here in the US? Would we have had the tax cuts for the rich? Would Josh Bolton still be the UN ambassador? Would Valerie Plame still have her job as an undercover agent of the CIA? Would Karl Rove still be part of the White House? Would Haliburton be the great big corporation it is today? Would gas prices be lower & have stayed lower? Would Donald Rumsfeld been secretary of defense for 6 years?

What if the current congress & senate had stayed in place or extended its gain?

Do not underestimate the power of winning the senate & congress in the current elections. The people will finally have control of stopping the rot in government. Lets hope that our government is never again ruled by the kind of autocratic rule we saw in the last 6 years. May democracy reign forever.
