A Canadian Poll About the Presidential Race
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 11:18 AM by vanityfair
This is on the Globe and Mail website this morning. Thought you would like to see what your neighbours think.

"Assuming John Kerry wins the Democratic presidential nomination, would you rather see him or George W. Bush in the White House?"

Bush
2679 votes (19 %)

Kerry
11085 votes (81 %)

Total Votes: 13764

1. And the recent Macleans poll
says only 15% of Canadians would vote for Bush.

But since the Globe is Canada's establishment paper, 19% ain't bad.

2. Yeah
I hope I don't have to see whatever similar poll the Toronto Sun may do.

3. Remarkably, even the Toronto Sun
is now admitting they got Iraq wrong. Last week, editor Lorrie Goldstein titled "We were had", and ended this way: "Today is the day for those of us who urged Canada to join the U.S.-led coalition against Iraq, because Saddam had WMD he might hand over to terrorists for use against the West, to admit we were wrong. We were wrong."

And the Sun has Eric Margolis going for it, too. That's a big plus.

The National Post, though, is beyond hope. It exists to propagandize neocon adventurism.

4. Consider the source - The Sun = our very own freeper...........
style newspaper here in Canada which looks and reads like a tabloid spread, complete with Sunshine boy and girl (semi nude "sexy" pics) and redneck opinion pieces. Half of this newspaper is printed with ads for stipper joints, "escort" services, "massage" services........I say no more.

5. Thanx for the helpful comments
and thanx to Pink Poodle, too, for the same reason.

Sounds like the Sun and Candidate Kerry are reading off the same page right now.

My SO has been an Eric Margolis fan at least since this summer. Maybe I will have to start reading him.
