1. Kerry uses ignorance as his excuse. |
|
"Bush* didn't tell me the truth" LOL Surely he's smarter than that. Everyone else knew we were headed to war!

Clinton told the same pack of lies to Congress, and he undoubtedly got those lies from the same source. Naturally, people in the protective bubble known as "DC inside the beltway" would tend to believe something told them by two opposing administrations. They didn't agree on much, but they agreed on Saddam Hussein's WMDs. The only saving grace for Clinton was that he didn't order a ground invasion, even though he bombed that country repeatedly on the basis of this "intelligence."
No, folks, blaming Kerry, or even Bush, is not the answer. We need to find out who supplied these guys with the same tired pack of lies, and my guess is that we'll find them all occupying swanky offices in the Pentagon.
You and I had the leisure to surf the net and find out what the inspectors on the ground were saying about Hussein's ability to be a threat to anyone but his own people. Congressmen didn't. After this debacle, though, I'm sure they'll find time.

4. Sounds like a crock to me |

They have staffs don't they. Remember all the protesters. Remember the inspectors on the ground that never found anything after weeks of hundreds of people looking? They should have never signed onto the IWR in the first place.

I was visiting my Dad and he firmly believed it was all just talk. Needing to take a tough posture etc.
I'm not saying Kerry really thought that personally, I simply don't know and would tend to think he probably knew better. But for many that may not be so different from how they thought about it.
I remember all the yes voting dems at the time (Hillary Clinton and John Kerry in particular), stressing that they were "trusting" the president to do the right thing. Some were saying they were setting him up. Maybe thats exactly what it was after all.
