US plans last big push in Iraq-to win what?
Edited on Fri Nov-17-06 09:30 AM by RestoreGore
This socallled "war" was lost the minute they preemptively attacked a country that didn't attack us! What are we going to "win" now? Can anyone tell me? I personally think they are all nuts. And why the hell is JAMES BAKER being allowed to set our Iraq policy? I don't recall seeing his name on a ballot in 2004.

I am sickened to my core with all of this, and the fact that for all of the talk of the Democrats about accountabilty, that they would condone this election stealer and a man who would defend Saudis against 9.11 families to have ANY say in government policy now. Make no mistake about it, The Carlyle Group is now on the job.

We don't need to send in MORE troops, we need to start getting those there OUT. But of course coincidentally, the Iraqi government they have is now ineffective in stopping the militias and violence, so they need us. So as usual, this will be the centerpiece issue as both Parties don't really think about the working class in this country, only how to set themselves up for the next "election."

I wonder how many innocent people will now die in the interim while they all work to secure their political standing? And for my money, if the Democrats really wanted to look serious about ending this war, they would have had someone who voted AGAINST this war as majority leader.

US plans last big push in Iraq

Strategy document calls for extra 20,000 troops, aid for Iraqi army and regional summit

By Simon Tisdall

President George Bush has told senior advisers that the US and its
allies must make "a last big push" to win the war in Iraq and that instead of beginning a troop withdrawal next year, he may increase US forces by up to 20,000 soldiers, according to sources familiar with the administration's internal deliberations.

1. To win the hearts and minds of the people, DUH!
Specifically, the hearts and minds of the people who will be voting for President in 2008. It will do the GOP no good if they still have this albatross around their neck.

If they continue to allow Bush to get away with this crap and say impeachment is off the table.
