African-American Dems favor Hillary Over Obama ... link
and by a wider margin than white Democrats. I admit that surprises me, and I'm not sure what to make of it. Nostalgia for the Clinton years, perhaps- Bill was always very popular among African-Americans.

On the reaction from blacks to his potential presidential bid:

An AP-AOL News poll in late October found that, among registered Democrats, Obama is essentially tied with New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on the question of the person they would most like to see elected president in 2008. Among registered black Democrats, Clinton led Obama 29 percent to 10 percent on the same question in an AP-AOL Black Voices poll.

"It's interesting that the people who are most hesitant about this oftentimes are African-Americans because they feel protective of me. They're either concerned about the attacks I'd be subjected to or they are skeptical oftentimes that America is prepared to elect a black president."

1. At the Democratic convention, Al Sharpton didn't even know his name.
He called him Obama Baracus in his convention speech.

2. Well, he could always run with the Senator, though that would take two of ours from the Senate NT

4. I'm confident that if he runs this figure will change. . .
. . .our community likes to deal with what is real, if Obama's run for president becomes real then these numbers will change.

5. A lot of LGBTs support Hillary... but are ignorant of her record!
We must make people aware of Hillary's dismal record on LGBT rights, the war in Iraq, and her failure to support Kerry's filibuster of Alito, Murtha's call for Iraq troop withdrawal, and her support of the School of the Americas.

6. I talked to an African-American lady
yesterday at the mini-mart and she told me that she feared for Obama's life if he ran for president. She was serious and very emotional.

7. Yeah a lot of blacks don't want Obama to run
just cause they think he'll get assassinated. I saw an older black lady at an Obama book signing telling him to be careful and watch out for other people.

8. I Thought The Civil War was Over
Guess not. If all else fails, use race to destroy someone.

This is really pathetic. Why is DU so afraid of Obama?

The election is two years away, but he still scares the hell out of ya.
