Not sure who to vote for? This website can help
http://news.mpr.org/features/2004/01/01_newsroom_selectapres/

Courtesy of Minnesota Public Radio.
It wouldn't actually use it to pick my candidate (tho it did predict that I was a Kucinich guy), as the question pool is limited and goes into specifics that I think aren't necessary. Fun tho

I got

Kucinich 71
Dean 51
Sharpton/Kerry/Clark 50
Edwards 42
Bush 0

So, how did everyone do?

2. Who is "LaRouche"?
...And why does MPR say I should vote for him?
 I'm kidding.

Unfortunately, not very helpful for me. Three-way split between Kucinich, Dean, and Kerry. (69,69,69)

4. As you say, the q pool is limited
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 02:39 PM by Mairead
And the weighting simplistic. I got DK at the top, but Edwards as my second choice because of the hopeless weighting.

I think polls like that serve a useful purpose, but not the one their makers presume. To me, they reveal how shallow the media think we are AND how shallow they think we ought to be. Quizzes like that are the survey equivalent of a news presentation that says 'Various things happened today all over the country. And now, after a word from our sponsor, we'll go on to the weather.'

9. 73% Kucinich, 60% Sharpton, 53% Edwards...0% GWB
Though there are some discrepancies on there. They have some of candidates stances a bit off.

11. In any one of these that only talks about major issues
Dean and Clark always come out on top of "liberal" Kerry. Kerry only begins to seem liberal if you get a lot of questions about the environment.

13. I got this on the Minn Pub Radio quiz .....
Dennis Kucinich 66.0
John Edwards 66.0
Howard Dean 53.0
Wesley Clark 53.0
Al Sharpton 46.0
John Kerry 40.0

George Bush 0.0

By the way, don't be too critical of these polls. They may be simplistic, but at least they help raise issue awareness and some understanding. This one is not corporate media driven.

The mainstream corporate media hopes you never hear about the issues. They hope you stay confused and never learn.

Now I will try the other quiz.

16. Here are my results on the AOL poll:

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1  Kucinich Score: 100%

2  Kerry Score: 84%

3  Dean Score: 83%

4  Edwards Score: 76%

5  Bush Score: 2%

Clark and Sharpton did not make the list because holding prior public office is essential for me.
