I just saw the movie "Bobby" and
my wife and I thought it was great but very sad. We give it 4 Stars. It is a well made film with an all star cast. It has a lot of relevance for today's political climate, with the war and all. The director, Emilio Estevez stayed away from the who did it and why.I think he really wanted to focus on Bobby and the way things were then.
I don't know if these articles have been posted but I think they should reopen the investigation into both Kennedy assassinations.

1. Thanks for posting, because my local paper gave it 1 out of 4 stars. The previews
looked so good, so I was disappointed that the critics hated it so. It's really my kinda movie.

3. That reviewer must have been a freeper
or just another Kennedy hater.

14. ...WHAT?
I mean, I haven't seen it, yet...but I also haven't seen anyone give it a poor review. Yikers.

2. I just saw it today, too! I wasn't expecting to laugh but there were
a few funny moments in addition to the expected moving/sad moments.

I agree that the investigation needs to be (re-)opened. Maybe now that several of the CIA people involved in the job are dead the truth can come out. It will take opening BOTH cases to get the truth because it is all interlinked - for example, Morales said he was present at both jobs.

I know we were supposed to leave feeling uplifted (as in 'no one's going to break my faith') -- but I left ticked off that the photos included Hoover and LBJ.

:puke:

4. I thought the same
when I saw Hoover's and LBJ's ugly mugs but maybe Estevez was just trying to get people to rethink who was all involved back then.

5. Wanna know why you don't see politicians emulating Bobby?
You tend to get shot in the head.

Until this country can overcome that fact, we're a bunch of losers.

6. I share your pessimism, and think that Bobby was a far
greater threat to the powers that be than any other social justice & peace loving candidate could be.

Bobby would have found out who murdered his brother and THAT would have been THE END to all of their fascist dreams.

They can withstand occasional shrinkages in cash flow as a result of peace and even a cut in wealth as a result of feeding workers enough so that they don't starve.

They could not survive the revelation of who killed JFK.

13. It certainly made him more of a threat
but don't discount the social justice aspect of it.

Bobby, like Martin Luther King brought people, especially poor people. When MLK was killed, he was planning the Poor People's March on Washington - a march for people all colors. You get too many people figuring out that their economic situation gives them more in common than their skin color gives them differences and you have a major threat to the status quo.

15. Think Jackie O did too. So she fled the country with kids, married someone rich enough
to provide "protection" she and they needed.

9. He had superstar power, too, which made him a huge threat. Watch this little video.

10. I would give it 3 of 5 stars
Because the storyline is interesting.

But.. I don't want to give away why I had some misgivings about it.

18. Just put "spoiler" in your post title and tell us what you think
Those who don't want to read it, can bypass your post.

Since people have a pretty good understanding of what happened to Bobby and a lot of the different theories about who killed him, it seems wierd that you are reticent about discussing the movie on an anonymous message board!

We're low on cash and time these days, so watching the discussions is the next best thing for me.

Thanks for the laugh and the spoiler!
