afterdowningstreet.org: "Dec. 10th is Impeachment Day"
the first part of an e-mail I received this morning from Democrats.com:

Groups Across Country Plan for Human Rights and Impeachment Day on Sunday, Dec. 10; Many Events Already Planned, More in the Works

December 10th is Human Rights Day, and this year we're making it Human Rights and Impeachment Day. Here's our slogan: "Putting Impeachment on the Table."

This is a chance to get organized locally and learn what's needed to lobby the new Congress for the investigations and impeachment hearings that will restore the rule of law to America.

You can sign up to attend a town hall forum, rally, vigil, training session, or house party in your area.

Or create a new event and post it online for others to sign up and attend.

5. More power to you if you can convince 16 Republican Senators cause that's what it will take.

on what "tools" the dems are willing to use. i dare say there are at least sixteen pigs who could be made to understand that it would be in their best political interest to play along.

10. Thats assuming you'd get all the Dems
Impeachment is a total waste of political capital. Until we get national health care, Dems have a responsibility to work on things that will actually effect our lives.

14. That would be the reason to bring up a vote to impeach.
People like Chuck Hagel who have been doing the talk show circuit critizing Bush, will expose themselves.

15. Count the votes first (but investigate even before that). You don't have the votes.

By the times that's done... well... Chimpy will probably be on his way out. :P

That doesn't mean The Hague wouldn't be interested in the results. :)

17. I have a problem
Edited on Wed Nov-29-06 11:33 AM by spag68
The date for the New York gathering is Dec. 9. It so happens that Billo the lier is to be at the Barnes and Noble Carle Place Long Island. My problem is this, should I go there to make fun of Billo or go downtown NYC to support Impeachment. What do fellow DUer's think?

18. Be a realist
Does he deserve to be impeached? No doubt about it.

Look, the votes are not there. Now that Democrats have the power of the House and Senate we need to concentrate on battles that solve the problems. We go after Bush and impeach we look like the over zealous crazy whack jobs that Reps. want us to look like.

We are the people and we should not force our party into the corner on issues that are either decided or we can not fix. We become the crazy right wing Christians that think if they vote Rep that they will get abortion outlawed, prayer in schools and gay marriage outlawed. Reps were in charge for over 6 years with un-contested authority and did little on these issues. Gay marriage and abortion people had to turn to state constitutions to make changes happen. Lets not force our party into those same areas. You will end up frustrated and disenchanted on politics faster than you can believe. Let us not forget, Reps would still be in charge had their base showed up in the numbers that the Dem's base did in the last election. History will judge Bush as the worst president ever. Let's support our Dem's as the people that got us out of the mess that we are in, in all fronts. Bush is too stubborn to realize he has done anything wrong so impeachment would not only be hard but pointless. Just like the Clinton one.
Bush will never think he is wrong. Nothing we do to him will make any dent in the bubble he lives in. We need to stop his antics and fix the problems he created. We do that and we have finally made a difference.

We should not turn a blind eye to our own party either. You look at how stupid Reps must feel for supported Bush so blindly.

Stay active, Stay real, and VOTE!
