Freepers are elated that Dean will stay in if he loses Wisconsin |
|
Edited on Mon Feb-09-04 05:36 PM by NNN0LHI
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1074485/postsEdit: Seeing there was a complaint about a stated position I will give mine now. I think these Freepers would like very much to split the Democratic vote so Chimpy will win in November. There you go. Don

18. As I have stated many times |
|
Republicans and Freepers especially have rather poor judgement.
The longer Dean stays in the race, the more Kerry will be forced to kick neocons in the family jewels.

fringe nutjobs. (like us DUers!) I wouldn't worry too much about them. If anything, I find it encouraging that the Repubs seem so happy to face Dean.

Having Dean stay in longer does not help Bush or hurt Kerry. He will support our nominee. Count on it.

The link goes to an article that starts with what I consider to be nonsense about Dean bolting for the Green party, that's what they're ecstatic about initially. Maybe they start saying what you say later on, but, for the moment, I stopped reading.

RWers have been dreaming about Dean running as a third party candidate ever since Kerry became the front-runner. Sorry, guys, ain't gonna happen.

still seem to be a lot of comments about the Green party in that one too. (Hey I can't give up without a fight)
on edit -- I admire your fortitude in tracking that down. I get bored usually when I go over to free republic.

Every time it is possible to take a dump on Dean supporters, it seems some people here take it.
Even when Dean is losing to Kerry, it is interesting they still dump. Amazing.

I'm sure that there are some Deaners that are guilty as well, but Dean, his campaign and his supporters have been getting the treatment.

12. They are afraid to have him run as the Dem nominee. That's why |
|
they would like him to run green. By the way, my understanding is that the green party is very strongly environmental.... I love Dean but he was rather a moderate on environmental issues in Vermont...but I think he would be willing to do more federally...but there's not real evidence in his doings in Vt.

I like Dr. Dean. I also like all the other Democratic contenders (except for Lieberman). In fact I like anyone who can beat Bush.
However, the Repukes seem to believe that the good doctor will be the easiest Dem to defeat. As a result, many of them have contributed to his campaign.
I read a statement from one of them in the New York Times in which he said that Bush has enough money. He contributed to the candidate who will be the easiest for Bush to defeat.
I wonder if a significant portion of Dean's $41 million came from the Repukes.

17. All of our candidates serve a purpose |
|
About 80% of what comes out of Howard Dean's mouth is anti-Bush; 15% is pure self-promotion and 5% is anti-other-candidate(s).
How's that for a scientific summary?
Anyway, Dean is good for the party. The Freepers are wrong again. Go figure.

22. Dean will not "split" the party. |
|
I see no reason for a candidate to drop out--not with how the campaign has been conducted. It's been beneficial to have this debate, and great to have multiple voices condemning the Bush administration. We needn't have some sort of coronation. The convention will be unified and we as a party will be. I'm voting for Dean and I support a unified, fighting Democratic Party.

29. The ultimate Freeper wet dream... |
|
is Hillary on the Democratic ticket and Dean on the Green.
Under this scenario, the Shrub wins. We can all agree to that.
It won't happen, of course: Hillary isn't running, and Dean will stay out of the race if he's not the Democratic nominee. Dean is a smart man who knows that it's more important for Bush to lose than for Dean to win. (Given that, if Dean wins, he'll take it. That's what he's in it for.)

30. They'd rather Dean be nominated |
|
and think there'd be no need for a 3rd party spoiler if Dean were the Dem candidate. There are some real obsessives on that site. They are especially prone to demonizing Hillary Clinton. A third party run by anybody would buffer them from the risk of Hillary taking over the planet.

7. You may not post any material from extreme right-wing sources, specifically WorldNetDaily.com, Newsmax.com, FreeRepublic.com, and their ilk. Material from more "mainstream" conservative writers or sources, such as The Washington Times and Fox News, are permitted as long as the post includes a clear warning about the source.
