I Understand That Rush Recently Advocated Let The M.E. Battle It Out And Basically Let.....
the chips fall where they may. In other words let the U.S. pull out and let the AAA Rabs kill each other.

If this is true - in a round about way isn't Rush advocating the 'destruction of Isreal'?

1. Can't follow your logic
Israel can, and has in the past, kick the crap out of all the Arab armies in the region combined.

2. then the arabs that win in iraq would
establish some sort of caliphate hostile to israel. I think that is the progression.

4. Not the caliphate again
How long has that been gone? Seven centuries? The Arabs can't even pull together to help out the Palestinians or deal with Iraq, so they're going to form a religious union of nations from Pakistan to Morocco?

Cheney's just trying to scare everybody. Might as well worry about the return of the Holy Roman Empire.

3. Dunno about that....
but he's missing the point that the modern world relies on what comes out of the ground there. If regional war ensues and the oil stops flowing then civilization grinds to a halt and most of us starve.

5. Perhaps this would be the impetus needed to finally kick that nasty fossil fuel habit.
If you'll excuse me now, I'll be over here looking at solar panels.

8. or how do we make the plastic bags or tin cans
or how do we figure everything out? Oh that is hard, well good thing there is still oil.

It is that rationale (thinking is hard) that will lead us to an America where everyone prays to Jesus while the Japanese and Germans invent everything new. Were we fighting Fascism then, or just fighting Hitler's Fascism so we could replace it with UN Fascism.

Any more brilliant questions CJ?

9. That is the world we live in right now.
Doesn't mean I agree with it.

I'm all for coming up with new solutions.

11. Those who wait to remake the ruins in their own image are to be feared.
There is much opportunity in chaos; beware those who profit from introducing it.
