Republicans to lose their Bible-study room in the Capitol

http://www.correntewire.com/republicans_to_lose_their_bible_study_room_in_the_capitol

If studying the Bible is what led Republican Christianists to not be able to pass a budget (leaving Democrats to clean up the mess), not rein in Bush’s illegal and unconstitutional warrantless wiretapping program (leaving Democrats to clean up the mess), and not be able to do one damn thing about the Iraq Clusterfuck (leaving Democrats to clean up the mess), then less Bible study, please, say I. The Hill:

Rep. Sam Johnson (R-Texas) expressed astonishment during a recent meeting of conservative lawmakers that Republicans would soon lose the room where members hold their regular Bible study, an aide present said.

All together now:

A-w-w-w-w-w-w-w!

NOTE Silly Democrats! Don’t they realize that Republicans are entitled?

9. Gee, too bad they can't "study" the Book of Nonsense there any more.
I weep for them. I truly weep.

How will they ever find out about all the contradictions, incest, and mythology contained therein?

12. Somehow, I don't think reading the Bible is what stopped them
I think not comprehending what was inside the thing is what stopped them.

Same reason Religious Right members such as Farwell can't see that they should be looking after the poor and the sick and practicing loving one another, as opposed to freaking out over a Congressman using the Koran to take an oath.

....turn it into a bordello....this way no one has to leave the building....if someone is missing for a close vote, we'll know where they're at....

....we must think pragmatically now that we're in charge....

17. They should designate it as Rep Ellison's Koran study room
If they had a room to study the Bible in, Keith Ellison should have one to study the Koran in. Fair is fair.

And if they don't like that idea, then maybe no one should have a room to study their religious texts in. That would be the fairest way to go of all.

18. I love The Hill article the link quotes
the thugs are moaning and groaning about having to give up their plush, ornate, spacious offices and meeting rooms in the Capitol building. They'll also get a reverse-screwing on the best office spaces in the House and Senate office buildings. Haahahahahaha!!!

I'm sure there's no Koran reading room, Dhammapeda reading room or Gospel of the FSM reading room at the White House. :eyes:

20. I don't know if I'm more irritated that Republicans are reading the Bible on our nickel
or that everyone is shuffling offices on our nickel. Well, yes I do - it's the Bible study. That's definitely more irritating.

21. A-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-w!
The Republican retreat from ornate leadership chambers and spacious committee offices has been a harsh awakening for members of the outgoing majority, but that is just one of the many difficult realities GOP members and staff must accept about life in the minority.

22. Send them to the basement hearing room, that Rep. Conyers...
was forced to use on their orders, for the various criminal activities he tried to prosecute! Fair is fair and turn about is fair play!!!!
