We can only beat Bush if we unite behind the nominee
I've been reading a lot of nonsense about candidates going third party. I doubt this would happen because it would prove to all that any candidate who does this is willing to destroy this country as part of a self-centered temper tantrum and I don't think any of our candidates or their supporters are stupid enough to guarantee Bush four more years. So let's stop talking about candidates taking their football and going third party. Let's talk about how we can stand behind the winner - even if he's not our first choice.

1. You are absolutely correct
And I've said before that once we have a nominee for THIS, the Democratic Party, anyone who comes to DU trying to promote their 3rd party or write-in candidate, should be considered a disruptor.

3. What we need to do
is start a draft Roy Moore movement. With that fundie running a few of those saying Bush isn't right enough will not vote for the chimp.

I am so sick of hearing post that sound like a bunch of kids stomping off the play ground.

I admit that it doesn't look good for my candidate, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna sit on my hands if he doesn't get the nomination.

This country CAN NOT afford another 4 years of Bush. Period. End of story.

5. No shit.
I believe everyone will come around once the smoke clears. We have to get the Chimp out of office and not voting for the nomineee because he isn't your guy is stupid. I want Clark in the worst way but if it's Kerry, Edwards or whoever I'm voting for them. Surely Clark has a spot in the next administration even if he isn't The President.

7. You are 100% correct
Anyone who does not support the democratic candidate is our enemy. I hope that it will be General Clark. But, if it is not, I will work every bit as hard for a democratic victory. I have four children. I want them, and all the children in the United States, to have a fair chance of having a good life. I believe that bush creates a serious threat totheir future. Anyone who does not actively support the democratic candidate fuels the bush threat.

8. Abso-luta-tuta-ly
Nothing is more important than winning in November. Whoever is nominated gets my total support for the GE. I could not support any candidate who bolted because of some hissy fit. Nor do I find any of the actually existing third parties of any interest.

This is going to be a binary election. You're either against * or you're not.

13. Absolutely if the nominee is anybody
I don't particularly like Dean. He's too conservative, too DLC, but I'm backing whoever the party chooses.
