Murtha Raises Alarm Over Study Group, Warns ‘Kissinger Came Out With The Same Type of Thing’

Tonight on CNN’s Situation Room, Rep. John Murtha (D-PA) said that the Iraq Study Group’s reported recommendations for troop withdrawals from Iraq were “unacceptable.” According to the Washington Post, the group will recommend that roughly half of U.S. forces be redeployed from Iraq by 2008.

“(T)he problem is they say it depends on the circumstances on the ground,” Murtha said. “Well, if it depends on circumstances on the ground it’s not a lot different than what President Bush is saying.” He added, “Kissinger came out with the same type of thing in the 1960s and three years later we got out of there, but we lost 20,000 troops.” Watch it:

3. So we're chasing "peace with honor" again, huh?
How many people died after that particular phrase was uttered back then?

over this Iraq invasion and occupation from the very beginning. So, it wouldn't surprise me that something smacked of what Kissinger had come up with before. The same cast of characters have been scheming and conniving since the 1980's, and many of them have shown up either in or affiliated wit the current Booosh Administration.

I'll bet Kissinger believes that the masses are just to dumb to understand why U.S. imperialism is necessary. Didn't he once say that the Chileans (or some other country) could not be trusted to determine their country's leader (that was too important a task to be left to them)?

Google "Kissinger and Associates;" it is very enlightening:

5. We have to recall that Hank made his bones by his thesis that a tactical small scale nuclear war was
not merely "winnable" but should be considered to counter any Red Menace...

Does that haircut and mysterious German accent mesmerize Republicans or what?

6. "but we lost 20,000 troops..." And about 1 million Southeast Asians.
Why are U.S. victims so seldom mentioned?

I applaud Murtha, though, for saying this. He sure is a Paul Revere. We're in deja vu all over again. ("Peace with honor.")
