11. Gore/Clinton. I don't know why this one is hardly mentioned.

By now, most Americans, I would wager, have fond memories of the Clinton years, and the last six, and next two, provide a frightening contrast. This ticket, on its face, would give those voters a chance to return to better days. Clinton/Gore becomes Gore/Clinton.

This ticket would also minimize the percieved divisiveness of Hillary. Not at the top of the ticket, the hatred of the right, and her presumed effect to mobilize those voters, would have to be diminished.

I think this would also mobilize our base - we won't let them steal the election from us, and Gore, again.

Not to mention, we could campaign on something seldom seen from our side - consistency: we were right then, and we're right now.

So I didn't vote in the poll, because that option wasn't there. But I would really like to see this ticket possibility discussed.

...I don't think it will ever happen. I think Hillary is after the #1 spot only, and I don't think her ego will allow her to run as VP. That could be a viable ticket, but I don't think Hillary would go for it. Just my thoughts...

She will win in 2008 running away.

But if I absolutely had to take Hillary in the VP spot for eight years before becoming President, it would be to President Al Gore. I agree with you about the symmetry and the familiarity factor.

It seems appropriate, too, that Clinton and Gore put the final nail in the Reagan-Bush coffin.

I also agree it is a combination that should be discussed more around here. Keep bringing it up in threads like this one and it will be.

I hate to be the vinegar but these threads pop up 5-10 times a day. They don't offer up much for discussion in the way of issues.
