The most honorable plan that Democrats can come up with for withdrawing from Iraq |
|
will come as a result of impeaching Bush, beginning with investigations as soon as we take over Congress.
Getting out of this mess is far more complicated than any of us can even imagine. I think the easiest solution to getting our of Iraq is by impeaching Bush because that will force the facts to be out in the open as to why we went there, and once the facts are out in the open, everyone will know it was wrong for us to be there right from the start. Then, leaving Iraq will be the only logical thing to do. Hence, it will be easier to say it's time to go.
Through the impeachment process, it'll be shown that lies and corruption by Bushco are what got us into this mess, and then it will be that much easier to pack our bags and get out of Iraq honorably and ASAP. Whatever happens in Iraq after we leave will fall squarely on Bush's shoulders. Besides, those people want us the hell outta there, no matter what happens after we're gone.
I really think that impeaching Bush will be the quickest way out of Iraq. Plus we'll be killing two birds with one stone.

1. I think you're 100% right... |
|
If we explain to the world that through election fraud and a media who's owned by corporations profitting from this White House... our government was taken over by greedy dictators.
If we nail BushCo., we could save face and get the hell out of Iraq.
Everyone wants peace. We have to prove to the world that we are peaceful people and we're able to hold shady leaders accountable.

2. Pelosi says impeachment is off the table. |
|
How about giving our Democratic leadership a little time before starting to second guess them, especially since they do not take power until next month? If impeachment starts, that is what will be the chief front and center topic and will be counterproductive to Democrats actually doing something for the American people. Please explain how impeaching Bush will accomplish anything unless he is also convicted by the Senate (not happening except in your dreams).

is to just bring the troops home, and quit trying to tie it to a thousand different political goals that may or may not ever happen.

9. Just a note from my former Army husband: keep in mind that |
|
redeployment from Iraq would take in the neighborhood of six to 10 months. Just to get them out.
Nothing political - that's just logistics.
The political can be worked on while the logistics are taking place.

10. There is nothing honorable about what has been done in Iraq. |
|
Nor will there be. Withdrawing now, without further ado, would at least have some smidgen of integrity to it.
