I did not see it. But I hold no emotion for these brutal bastards. I kind of believe that it was meant to elicite sympathy for Jeb. A photo op to help position him in the race. Poppy should be in prison with his sons.

Far as I know that former windbag hasn't attended a single recruit's funeral either. AND we pay his pension, secret service, upkeep on his presidential library and so on and so forth. Bush I has done NOTHING for his veterans and NOTHING for these troops.

I have no sympathy for president's who feel nothing for our soldiers in harm's way.

31. My rough poem about how I feel about Bush Sr. & Co.
They blew it.
People died.
Our Country is worse off.
They won't ever admit they made a mistake.
They won't ever let go of power.
Their supporters will defend them to the end.
The end is near.

33. folie a deux (usually means a delusion shared by two people) in this case it means,
a meltdown shared by two people--father and son!and i think the father's meltdown of which he has previously given an indication while talking in the Persian Gulf a couple of weeks ago, points as a credible fact to how much this father was involved in the son's pResidential doings ... he, the melting down father, was actually the puppeteer behind the son and he sees the meltdown not just as another one of his son's failures but as his own as well!

That he was able to live long enough to see this day, is pretty amazing to me.

You know it's GOT to be just tearing him apart, to see how his son is a complete failure, how his own son almost pushed this country to the brink of collapse.

ENJOY GHB.

That was actually sort of disturbing. I think there's something wrong with him. Could it be that he's finally cracking under the weight of the horrific crimes he and his family have committed against humanity?

20. Or possibly with the Gates nomination coming up, G.H.W.B. fears
his papers regarding Iran-Contra ("I wasn't in the loop") might be released or leaked somehow and his real legacy will catch up with him before he dies.

His Iran-Contra papers should have been released years ago, but Junior is keeping them under wraps somehow.

If that was my "legacy" I'd cry too.

9. wot has he morphed into Jed Clampet's dad from the Beverly Hillbillies?
It's Jeb, I presume as in Jebediah not Jed.

But given the ill gotten gains from the oil industry and how utterly classless that clan is, it may be an apt comparison even if it's an innocuous typo.

I love typos.

37. I saw the old man breaking down and had to come back online to see
what others thought of his crying over Jebby.

You have to remember how hateful Poppy was years before he ever became president. He never could take criticism then and he had a tongue as sharp as a knife. He was just plain nasty as he could be.

I believe that Poppy is breaking down because he cannot stand the criticism that is mounting against his son, the Decider. He was speaking about Jebby but he was thinking George.

Poppy is a very proud man and this failure of his son is really painful to that pride.

I feel no sympathy for this criminal family - NONE!

I say bring on the Impeachment and let Poppy take that.

40. Didn't the Little Chimp say: "We Bush's Feel and We Cry alot?"
Didn't I see that posted here on DU about how the Bushies cry? Having been around with Poppy he used to "well up with tears" lots...and his little chimp has been known to shed a "crocodile tear or two."

Bush Family Tradition...Bush Family Dynasty. Buy Kevin Philips Book...because it talks about them.

I had an evil uncle in my family. He was cold hearted and calculated but he would cry over a newspaper article that he would point out...he would cry over a newscast...he seemed to cry at everything except his own personal situation and his dealings with people. I think the Bushies are that way. We always thought our uncle cried over what he had done to screw folks and it came out in odd ways....and the Bushies are the same, maybe.

I know this sounds cynical...but my uncle was kind of like them. Never saw that his actions caused people harm and most folks tolerated him out of "kindness." We were wrong to do that because it only enabled him. Maybe he saw that and cried. :-( because he thought we were gullible fools he cried for us..

Former President Bush praises son Jeb's job as governor

By Dara Kam
Palm Beach Post Capital Bureau

Monday, December 04, 2006

TALLAHASSEE — Former President George H.W. Bush broke down in tears while praising his son, Jeb, at the Florida governor's final leadership forum on Monday.

Bush, 82, choked up when recalling his son's first political loss in 1994 when he unsuccessfully tried to the late Gov. Lawton Chiles.

"But he didn't whine about it and he didn't complain," President Bush said before breaking down.

"One true measure of a man is how you handle victory and also defeat. So in '94 Floridians chose to rehire the governor, and they took note of his defeated opponent," he went on haltingly as Gov. Bush walked up to the podium, embraced his father and handed him a bottle of water.

"I can do it," President Bush insisted. "The moral of the story is to serve with honor, and your governor has served with honor. Thank you," he finished as the audience of current and former Bush aides and lawmakers gave him a standing ovation.

He later apologized. ...

So sorry that my liberal heart can't squeeze a drop of sympathy for the wimpy fucker who engineered Iran/Contra, who bailed from his plane in WWII while the other members of his squad went into the water and drowned, who exclaimed with shock and awe over a grocery scanning machine--and worst of all--who actually bred with Satan's spawn and foisted those hideous children onto the rest of us!!

It makes me sick to think that this fucked-up family has never attended a military funeral, that HW's own wife couldn't be bothered to soil her "Beautiful mind" with the horrible destruction their son had created, that there are mothers and fathers in Peoria and Tikrit who're crying for dead children that never should have been in the line of fire--but what makes this asshat weep? His son's losing a political office that he later gained anyway (and probably from dubious means, knowing their track record.) This family are off the charts for sociopathy!!!

Jeez! I'm starting to channel Malloy. Better dial it down.
