Poll question: Who Will The GOP's Fundie Base Nominate For President In 2008?
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 08:29 PM by Mark E. Smith
It's now down to the Big Four for our dear friends in the Republican Party! And from the looks of things the Taliban wing of the GOP ain't very happy with some of their prezzy choices. But there is a dark horse! Or at least a brown one ..

Who do YOU think will be annointed to place their balding noggin firmly into Jumbo's Pink Fundament and ride that mighty beast to the November presidential finish line?

4. brownback is the fundiest on this list - romney is the most electable
BUT the fundies would never ever ever vote for a mormon - hell for the fundies would be Harry Reid vs Mitt Romney for president.

I'm almost cheering for this possibility just because it would make them crazier than just about anything short of President Hilary

6. JEB
Watch for it. Right to Life, led the fight for Schivo, Catholic, srong tie to hispanics, pro-death penalty, not part of the Beltway gang.

I think if he wants it, it will be his and that he would be almost unbeatable.

9. I wonder: Jeb will run if there is a major US terrorist event, IMO.
I don't think Jeb would run if he and his handlers and the Bush familla thought he would lose the election. He would instead sit it out four to eight years.

So, in order for Jeb to run, the G.W. approval ratings would have to improve.

Which means that there would have to be a major US LIHOP event, IMO, for Jeb to run.

He'll end up being the compromise/consensus candidate.

8. The South, minus Hard Core Fundies, will vote Huckabee or Newt.
Brownback will get the Gary Bauer element.

Jeb's a wild-card - but will only run if there is a major terrorist event that pushes GW's approval ratings back up.

And if this happens - well you know it will be a LIHOP - and you heard the prediction here first.

10. The South minus the fundies...
..in a primary leaves about 40%.

Don't underestimate Brownback. Being a United States Senator gives him a lot more credibility than Bauer ever had.

And besides, wouldn't a major terrorist event play against the Bushies this time?
