Well, you know what they say: Obama Happens
Hillary posed for smiling photo-ops with Bill Frist, Newt Gingrich, and Rick Santorum.

She backed a bill criminalizing flag burning, came out against violent video games, signed on to President Bush's missile defense plan, shifted her language on abortion, and became a bellicose backer of the war in Iraq.

And then suddenly, unexpectedly, came a rumbling in the distance. A rumbling caused by a boy named Barack. Indications are that before the year is out, Barack will officially be in.

All at once, a surge of enthusiasm and support for the boy named Barack is threatening to ruin all of the girl named Hillary's perfect plans -- like sand castles being washed away by a rising tide.

So, my little ones, what is the lesson to be learned from this tale?

Bottom line? - the best-laid plans of mice and men -- and perfect little girls -- often go awry. And, man oh man, are they ever going awry for Hillary.

3. Just As Generals Fight The Previous War
Edited on Mon Dec-04-06 11:19 PM by MannyGoldstein
Mrs. Clinton is fighting the previous presidential campaign - or, at least her husband's previous campaign.

The Middle Class was asleep when Mr. Clinton feinted Right, feinted Left, then went hard Right.

But this is not like 1992. It's much more like 1930: Either an FDR or a Hitler will emerge soon. Mrs. Clinton is neither.

He was supposed to come meet me and others in NY but could not make it. He called instead.

6. ......perfect little girls ????? WTF?????
She hasn't announced yet, and neither has Obama. And as a mature female, a second term Senator, she's a LONG way from being a "perfect little girl." I don't know what to call that comment--sexism? It's certainly uh, "not progressive" at a minimum.

I can't see the point of this thread, except perhaps to get people wailing and gnashing teeth over the usual "Will she run/won't she?" and "I hate the DLC" and the ever popular "How dare she move to the middle, what a sellout!!!"

I'm waiting for the debates. I think it's always a good idea to LISTEN to what people have to say before you praise or condemn them.

Such a concept....

Up on stage with Obama, Edwards, Kerry, Clark, Gore (hopefully).

11. Hillary will have plenty of time to change her position on voting for war
Obama stated; "Iraq was the wrong war at the wrong time"

12. Oooh. Good Point!
She'll have nobody to triangulate of to the right of her - it'll be a catastrophe for her.

I'm sure she can get someone else in the race to make the triangle - Zell Miller perhaps, if he's not her running mate.

16. Falsehoods weaken your argument...
"She backed a bill criminalizing flag burning"

She backed a bill making it illegal to burn a flag on Federal property with the intent to physically intimidate others...largely as a way to head off a more drastic flag burning amendment...which btw she has consistently opposed.

"came out against violent video games"

Came out against video games with secret content that had it been revealed would have garnered the game a more restrictive age rating.

"shifted her language on abortion"

She has consistently subscribed to the safe, legal and rare doctrine...and has not moved one micron off that position. Her 100 rating from NARAL speaks to her commitment to choice.

"and became a bellicose backer of the war in Iraq."

A flat out falsehood...as anyone who would have taken the time to cursorily glance at her floor speech and subsequent criticisms of the Bush administration would reveal!
