Next to the War in Iraq, all other issues are relatively unimportant |
|
I say this because this war that we've been (mis)led into is draining our treasury, preventing any advances on economic issues, liking ensuring the solvency of Social Security and Medicare; it is robbing our country of a whole generation of men and women, leaving widows and orphans and broken bodies and minds in it's wake. It is robbing our once-great nation of it's global prestige, turning many estwhile friends and allies against us.
War has always been the precursor to a civilization's fall. For example the Peloponessian War led to the downfall of Athens, among others.
Until we can end this war and bring our men and women home, nothing will be solved and our country will go the way of the Romans ,the Aztecs, and the Babylonians, to the rubbish heap of history.

1. If they just messed up the economy, we can fix it. |

Just money after all.
Kill kids - that can never be fixed, never replaced.
I look at it that way. I totally agree with your premise.

I'm a dedicated liberal, and I'm interested in lots of liberal causes, but the war against Iraq is numero uno, and then some.
