God wanted Mary to have a child without a father
So he allowed Mary and Heather to get pregnant using modern medicine.

Think about that one for a second. According to the Fundies, everything is some part of God's plan. Even scrolling through the Bible, there are a many stories about wives who didn't conceive telling their husbands to go sleep with the sister or their servant girl to have a child to carry on the family name (obviously invitro wasn't around back then).

Now, setting aside the fact that God will answer all prayers, except for those that He doesn't because he moves in mysterious ways - why would God allow Mary to get pregnant while she's in a lesbian relationship?

How many childless heterosexual couples try and try and try but still never conceive? Thousands across the country. But for some reason, it apparently took with Mary.

Maybe this is God's way of slapping the fundies across the face and telling them to wake up, to quit blaming all the world's woes on the "homosexual agenda". To stop questioning and ranting about those that He chose to make gay - for one of His mysterious ways.

5. Don't forget Abraham (was it?) boinking his daughters ...
... because their mother was 'dead' and they needed to 'procreate' .... :eyes:

7. According to the Book of Jubilees
Adam and Eve had several children, not just Cain and Abel. So instead of procreating with their mother, they might have procreated with their sisters instead. Either way it's still incest. However, you won't see the Book of Jubilees in the King James version of The Bible. In the KJ version a 'wife' for one of the brothers suddenly appears out of nowhere with no real explanation where she came from.

If you ask the fundies about this incestuous relationship, they get all defensive about it because they can't explain the contradiction.

I just love cornering fundies with their own hypocrisy.

4. *why would God allow Mary to get pregnant while she's in a lesbian relationship?*
Because to quote my extremely Christian and liberal mom 'God wants us to be happy'.

Even Mary Cheney.

6. umm...wasn't Mary engaged?

So Jesus would have a Father in Joseph. I've read the New Testament a few times and somehow missed the part about Mary being in a Lesbian relationship.
Maybe this is sarcasm that I'm not picking up?

9. But to the fundies all judgment is witheld...
Edited on Wed Dec-06-06 07:02 PM by Viracocha
...mainly because Dick is a God-fearing conservative and Mary is his child, so it's a 'gift' from God.

But when Melissa Etheridge and her mate did the same thing, it's godless liberalism at its worst and a sign that American society is collapsing from 'lack of values'.

12. If we don't frame the messages, they'll continue to do so - I can't
wait to see Focus on Everyone Else's Family for Profit, Jerry Falwell, Wildmon and all the "pro-family" groups out there trying to spin this one.

Probably the reason that she's four months pregnant but not a word was said before the election.

13. I wonder what this does
to their private opinion of abortion. (Not that they'd ever publicly admit to thinking it would be a good idea under SOME circumstances)

15. She was impregnated by sperm from a male, same as I was
The only difference being, that I was, and still am, married to the man who impregnated me, not once, but three times. She was impregnated with a stranger's sperm.

Babies are no doubt a gift from God, but they're made by human beings. Fundies are such clowns.

16. What about Ishmael?
Abraham had nookie with women other than his wife Sarah. What about Jacob and Rebecca and Leah? Back in those days, marriage most certainly wasn't "one man, one woman." And god seemed to think it was okay.
