If Obama runs, I think it will handicap Edwards and take away a lot of his appeal.

Think about it.

1. So?
Why is protecting Edwards a concern for anyone? If he's that weak a candidate...he ain't gonna win anyway.

I just love these idiotic, premature threads, don't you?

3. It's gonna make a Clark run virtually impossible.

5. I don't think so, what they bring to the table doesn't overlap as much as with Edwards. nt

9. I don't know about that...
The only thing that I see overlapping with Edwards and Obama is a natural charisma. John Edwards happens to be a little more eloquent, IMO, but Obama has that voice. Edwards has that accent.

Where do they overlap on the issues? I'm just asking because I really don't know what Obama stands for. Is he a progressive? Again, I really don't know much about him other than he seems to be gaining a lot of support and publicity.

We are going to have many good candidates running. The cream will rise to the top. My only hope is that the primary schedule isn't so front loaded that it can't rise naturally. Otherwise the press is going to have a big hand in choosing our nominee. I'm looking forward to the day when the candidates actually announce and start distinguishing themselves from each other. Only then can we make an intelligent choice on who to support.

4. Nothing idiotic about the thread at all...this is the politics forum on a major Democratic site.
This is the kind of place where people ponder such questions...if don't like it, find someplace else to hang out. :-)

7. Tell the truth. You're hoping they cancel each other out
leaving more room for Clark.

8. Truth that.
But I have to say, I really do like Obama. I think Clark/Obama would be a great ticket.

I could enthusiastically support Obama in the General election. He's now officially my third choice after Clark and Gore.

2. If Obama runs and wins, say hello to Mcain and more aggressive warfare in the mid-East.
That goes for Hillery too. We can do better.

11. I don't know about that
But what I don't understand is this thng between Clark supporters and Edward supporters. Seems unnecessarily bitter.
