Where is their outrage of fatherless due to Shrub's war? These wingnuts
can absolutely never fail to amaze me with their stupid, hurtful comments. Re: Mary's baby will have 2 mommies

Where have they been these past 5 years as the Shrub misAdministration made thousands of families fatherless? Why weren't they crying out for him to stop?

So, if I understand them correctly - Worst thing in the world that can happen to a child is to be without a father, unless said father is killed in a foolish, illegal war started by a man with an ego that makes him think he's God - in which case, those fatherless children are somehow not affected. Unbelievable.

"They're deliberately bringing a child into the world without a father, leaving a great gaping hole. Father absence is the biggest problem we're facing in this country," she said, and "the root cause of all sorts of negative outcomes — drug use, juvenile delinquency. You name it."
-- Janice Course of Concerned Women for America, on ABC

“It's very disappointing that a celebrity couple like this would deliberately bring into the world a child that will never have a father. They are encouraging people who don't have the advantages they have.”
-- Crouse, bleating for AP; she also referred to the Cheney pregnancy as "unconscionable."

I think it's tragic that a child has been conceived with the express purpose of denying it a father. Fatherhood is important and always will be, so if Mary and her partner indicate that that is a trivial matter, they're shortchanging this child from the start....Mary and Heather can believe what they want. but what they're seeking is to force others to bless their nonmarital relationship as marriage and to create a culture that is based on sexual anarchy instead of marriage and family values."
-- Robert Knight, director of the Culture and Media Institute of the Media Research Center.

Carrie Gordon Earll, a policy analyst for the conservative Christian ministry Focus on the Family, expressed empathy for the Cheney family but depicted the newly announced pregnancy as unwise.

“Just because you can conceive a child outside a one-woman, one-man marriage doesn't mean it's a good idea. Love can't replace a mother and a father.”

Obviously, we’re saddened at the spectacle of the Vice President’s daughter, Mary Cheney, living in an open lesbian relationship, and now bringing a child into a home that is fatherless by design. In our view, this is another case of the “gay” movement putting its wants (in this case, having a child) above what’s best for children. “Two mommies” or “two daddies” will never substitute for a home with a married mom and a dad, and it is sad when men or women model immoral homosexual behavior before innocent children in a home setting.

2. I want Wolfe to ask one of them on the Situation Room - I just want
to see one of the Pharisees sit there and sputter, and show America the real truth behind their Christian political power and financial agenda.

3. Outstanding Point BR
Pro-lifers urging on the continued killing of the father's of our children while moralizing over the decision by two parents to raise a baby in a loving home. Praise Jesus.

Let us remember that our kids in uniform have vowed to support and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and DOMESTIC. There is no doubt in my head and in my heart that focus on the family and other radical christian hate groups are domestic enemies of our constitution.

4. This is very easy for them ... they have this basic character flaw ......
..... they can relate when an issue has a face and a name. Mary Cheney is a name. They also know the face that goes with it. It becomes a singular issue and they can smack it down, do research, whatever is needed to spew hate and condemnation.

The dead soldiers(the fathers no longer there to which your OP refers) have no faces or names .... neither do their children. And therein lies the basic flaw. They can leave unacknowldged those they don't know.

You and I are inacapable of such thinking.

5. Because don't you know, gay parents are destabilizing the world....
not foolish discretionary wars and violent religious fundamentalism. HOW DARE a child be raised by two loving parents who shop in the same section at the department store!

7. The fact that my partner and I can save money by wearing the same size
shirts leaves us more money to spend on our kids, granddaughter. Since they're always so concerned about someone going on Welfare, this should be seen as a positive.

6. But it's natural for fathers to be killed in meaningless wars
See? And as Shrub so memorably told one grieving mother, how does anyone know that any particular person killed in action would have had a good life? But the pinheads swinging the cross like a bludgeon know for a fact that the prospective Cheney baby will live a life of misery and privation. That is, if they have anything to say/do about it.
