1. French aesthetic ...... that puts me very much in mind of Cirque de Soleil (sp?) ......
... which is the Canadian version of the French aesthetic. This act and this music are very much in the same vein.

4. US TV
i wish stuff like this could be intermingled into American TV ...

i don't know about you but there's virtually nothing i watch on TV anymore other than news and information shows ... if cop shows or sitcoms or whatever blending in stuff like this (e.g. following a suspect into a theatre with this act on stage), maybe they'd be worth watching ...

2. Reminds me of the performance group "Mumenshantz"(sp?)...
Thanks for the link, but what makes it fall under the category "politics"? Or is there some allegory that I'm missing?

3. just sharing with my friends in GDP
i'm glad the mods have let this remain here (so far) ... this is where i almost always post ...

i suppose i could have written something about "Old Europe" or about freedom fries and how it's time to "forgive" the French for not supporting the invasion of Iraq ... too bad the US didn't listen to their advice ...

9. not at all ...
i didn't think you were being snarky ... it was a fair point ...

there are quite a few regular GDP'ers and i sometimes feel we become very monolithic when the forum constrains us solely to politics ... i suppose it's good in some ways but a little humor or a bit of culture rounds things out some ...

Wow. The French really are different. Vive le difference.

Maybe, on A&E or a cable arts channel.

11. That was pretty cool. At the end when he accepts the award, he...
...kisses the presenter and smiles which surprised me. The mask he put on, like the mask he took off, has an unusual level of articulation for an appliance so easily worn.

Thanks!

PB
