Visiting Iranian Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Davoud Danesh-Ja'fari here on Thursday submitted a written message from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad for his Kyrgyz counterpart, President Kurmanbek Bakiyev.

Alluding to the historic and cultural commonalties of the two states, the Iranian minister underlined the need for further expansion of Tehran-Bishkek political, economic and cultural ties.

He expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral cooperation in international organizations, including the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and UN.

In related developments, Danesh-Ja'fari met and conferred with Kyrgyz Prime Minister Feliks Kulov this morning.

Voicing Tehran's desire to expand bilateral ties, he said Iranian companies are ready to invest in various industrial and agricultural projects in Kyrgyzstan.

The Iranian minister further called for implementation of agreements concluded by the two sides during the 8th session of the Iran-Kyrgyzstan Joint Economic Commission held in Tehran in August.

For his part, the Kyrgyz premier welcomed the participation of Iranian companies in various development projects in his country.

Danesh-Ja'fari arrived here Tuesday heading an economic delegation for an official three-day visit.

Talks with Kyrgyz officials will focus on ways to bolster bilateral relations and speed up implementation of agreements reached by the Iran-Kyrgyzstan Joint Economic Commission.

Danesh-Ja'fari will also look into how Iran's 50-million-euro credit to Kyrgyzstan for joint development and industrial projects in Bishkek is being spent.

Currently, 70 Iranian companies are doing business in Kyrgyzstan
