2. Sorry, they got into it so loudly I left the board. Buchanan is defending
Bush and that he's in a "tough spot", Arianna of course,I'll give her credit for pointing out the arrogant attitude of W still on the road of cherry picking what the ISG recommended. Then they showed a clip of the Brit Reporter and Buchanan thought it was a loaded partisan question (my words, not his but that was the essence).

8. That pic was when she was still a conservative. "Strange Bedfellows" was Al taking
the left view and Arianna opinionating from the right. She started to come around shortly after that time, though.

9. Yes, I know. Al is one of the influences that made her shift affiliations.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arianna_Huffington

Huffington's shift in political ideology was purportedly inspired by her Left, Right & Center segment colleague, Robert Scheer, her friend Al Franken, and her belief that the Republican Party does not do enough to help the "less fortunate".

10. Heh - left unsaid was GOP husband at the time came out of the closet and
really discovered he didn't like politics as much as he thought. I imagine Arianna went through what David Brock went through to some degree.

12. Interesting fact from Wikipedia. Michael Huffington publicly suppported gays in
the military — BEFORE he came out.

She met millionaire Michael Huffington at a 1985 party hosted by Ann Getty in San Francisco. The couple were married in 1986. They moved to Washington, D.C. when he was appointed to the Department of Defense. They later established residency in Santa Barbara, California, in order for him to run for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, which he won by a significant margin. He was a political conservative, although he had publicly supported gays in the military.

The couple divorced in 1997, after he narrowly lost the 1994 race for the U.S. Senate seat from California to incumbent Dianne Feinstein. In 1998, Michael Huffington disclosed his bisexuality. A 1999 magazine article claimed that Arianna Huffington "entered the marriage... with full knowledge of sexual interests in men". <1> The financial terms of their divorce agreement remain undisclosed. Arianna Huffington chose to retain her former husband's surname, although she had been known as Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington during the period of her marriage.

13. There were so few back then who would support gays in military publicly -
that was the sad thing about DC - even most of the Dems aren't bigots and know gays should serve openly, but it was hard to sell then so they wanted an easy way out, and that was DADT.

Huffington and another gay Repub whose name I can't recall right now backed it publicly and that was pretty brave. I guess if their districts were in Kansas or Alabama it would be another story.

11. She went off on Hillary - ridiculous rant about the
video games. I have returned to my original position on Arianna back when she was a Newtie - I hate her.

Some young guy (didn't catch his name) took her apart. She told him not to be so condescending. She totally deserved the bitch slap she received.

14. Why is Hillary trying to meddle in the video game industry?
That reminds me of Tipper Gore and cds. If you're offended by virtual violence Mrs. Clinton, don't vote for a war that leads to reality based violence without end.

15. I agree with you, Ariana is a air-head who will whore any POV which
will reward her. She was a Newtie whore, then Dole whore,
then Kerry whore,...on and on.
