Bush is still at 38%? I don't get it!
I just looked out on Pollingreport.com and Bush is still showing 37-38%. And this even tho support for Iraq is down to 29%?

I just don't understand this. Who are they talking to? And do all the people they call live in caves and never hear the news?

Amazing.

3. There is certain percentage of people
Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 09:10 AM by bowens43
who will support the president no matter what , as long as that president is a member of his/her party. This is true whether the president is a Democrat or a republican.

8. I guess - but he has just been getting creamed in the media
on all sides and by everyone. The op-ed pieces have been just awful this last week. And this complete snubbving of the Baker committee has got to have hurt him even more. But the Freepers seem to feel it shows that he has "spine." That logic is so strange.

And he is still at 38%?

32. Bush Christmas present: to American Families of our troops :
"Merry Christmas, your son is dead".

FOX News poll is still piss poor at 38%. Is probably closer to 31%.

5. I think that 38 % is that group of right-wing evangelical-fundamentalists that
believe God had him elected. I'm thinking there are that many out there, it is a very consistent poll result that does not budge downward.

9. He has lost a lot of the Evangelicals around here.
But I'm not sure how you handle this mess if you have stated that you believe Bush was elected by God - and then have to backtrack and say you were probably wrong about that.

30. The right wing born again idiots are between 19 and 26%
of the population ..... but they seem bigger because they get out
and vote.

bush has a base of 22% who would watch him screw a sheep on the
white house lawn and say how much he loved the sheep as long as
he dropped a "praise Jesus" afterwards.

rough figures

12. They are not paying attention
I would venture to guess that 1/4 of Americans pay no attention whatsoever to politics. They do not listen to the news, read newspapers or vote. The only way to reach some people is through their personal group of friends, their church groups, around the water cooler or via sports programming. Only if "everyone agrees" that Bush is bad news will these people come around, but then they will come around quickly.

13. If you try to make sense of it your head will explode
Because it makes no sense.

This is the level of the population that is totally divorced from reality.

There is going to be a certain point at which there is a total disconnect with reality. Maybe you have noticed that this administration is totally divorced from reality. Think of it like that teen in jail in Florida.

15. It's called "blind loyalty."
No matter what the facts are - they are loyal to their leader.
No matter that they have been proven wrong - they remain loyal to their leader.

Loyalty, above all else, is more important to them than life itself.

Cults rely on people who will be loyal to the end.
Even if that means they all must die.
All cults share this common denominator, whether they are a religious cult, an anti-social cult, or an anti-government cult.

It gives order to their life.
They don't have to answer any questions, instead they look to their leader for the answers.

29. Polls vary.
But the overall point is, there's a large chunk of America that will follow him no matter what, they either hate "libruls" or think supporting the GOP is the christian thing to do.

Our job is to keep the sane people on our side, we'll never get those nutjobs.
