2. Katheryn Harris' plane was delayed. Don't worry, the count will happen
She'll be in Maine soon enough to count the votes!! I can't wait until she certifies the results in yet another election!

3. Looks like they don't want to release them
Why do you think that is? I was hearing all kinds of reports about Dean winning a lot of the bigger towns, and virtually all of the others being close. The only large town I heard that Kerry won was Augusta. I heard that Dean won Portland in a big way, and that someone contested the results, which might be why it's taking so long to report those numbers. Also, in the county I was born (Washington County Maine), many of the small towns were denied their right to caucuse, and they're none too happy about it. I suspect there is a great deal of angry Maineacs storming the state house over this. That area of Maine is very active when they are wronged. You haven't seen anything until you've seen a couple of hundred angry fishermen and their families show up at the state house ready to raise some serious hell.

5. Hmmmmmm
It's very disturbing that the final results aren't available yet. Maine isn't so big it's taking this long is it? What's even more disturbing is you hear nothing about it on the news and the state has been called by all the media.

7. Yeah, they're "working" on it
It looks like complete chaos, especially judging by these posts to dKos by the Portland, ME caucus organizer, who doesn't seem to see the sense in releasing information to the rest of the nation and tells us she took the ballots home with her and presently has them in her kitchen. Yes, seriously.

This is how we choose our nominee?

11. I'd say this is how we are dissuaded...
Edited on Tue Feb-10-04 04:42 PM by redqueen
from thinking we can choose the nominee.

Or from even trying to choose our nominee.

Or worse, this is how we're prevented from coosing our nominee.

It's all about disenfranchisement folks. Gerrymandering makes for safe careers. Nothing to see here!

So much for being in denial. This Kerry candidacy has been a real eye-opener.
