Next-generation Bush defends uncle (Jebbie's son)
Next-generation Bush defends uncle

By AMAN BATHEJA

December 7, 2006

Six months after moving to Fort Worth from Dallas, presidential nephew George P. Bush on Wednesday addressed a local Republican group on the future of the GOP and defended an attack on his uncle's immigration policies.
Bush, son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and nephew of President George W. Bush, spoke at the Fort Worth Republican Women's annual Christmas luncheon at the Petroleum Club in downtown Fort Worth.

Bush is vice president of Charter Holdings, a real estate investment company in Dallas. About six months ago, he moved to Fort Worth with his wife, Amanda Williams Bush, who is an attorney at Jackson Walker in Fort Worth.

"My grandfather always said, 'Never ride on your name,' so I'm trying to distinguish myself in business and law," Bush said.
In discussing his grandfather, former President George H.W. Bush, he cited a recent speech in Florida in which the former president shed tears while talking about his son Jeb, the outgoing Florida governor.
"It was an example of the raw emotions in politics," Bush said. "It goes without saying that he is my hero."

Bush said his father, Jeb, is looking forward to private life although he plans to remain active in the Republican Party.

Bush described the political beating Republicans took nationwide and in Dallas County last month as "a wake-up call" for Republicans everywhere.
He attributed the defeat in part to the Democrats' portrayal of Republicans as creators of a "culture of corruption" in Washington, D.C.

"We didn't do a very good job in rebutting that argument," Bush said.

Yeah, P! It was just *the argument* that you lost! It wasn't the GOP's latest six years of criminality that had any effect.

:sarcasm:

The apples don't fall very far from this gangrenous tree.

22. ...who broke into his ex-girlfriend's home
From THE SMOKING GUN

George P. Bush might be a hunkalicious young Republican, but he still seems a bit creepy. So TSG wasn't too surprised to learn that "P" was involved in a troubling 1994 incident described in this Metro-Dade Police Department report. On December 31, 1994, Bush showed up at 4 AM at the Miami home of a former girlfriend. He proceeded to break into the house via the woman's bedroom window, and then began arguing with his ex's father. Bush, then a Rice University student, soon fled the scene. But he returned 20 minutes later to drive his Ford Explorer across the home's front lawn, leaving wide swaths of burned grass in his wake. Young Bush avoided arrest when the victims declined to press charges.

The whole Bush Crime Family is so evil and sleazy, they make the Sopranos look like the Brady Bunch!

2. Uh, P, the culture of corruption by the GOP is REALITY, not portrayal.

3. "P" for pathetic. You would think he would try a new tack.
My goodness, the Repugs really need some new ways of thinking. Hard to believe that a very young well educated man, such as he is, could not think of something a bit more original to do than simply follow these same tired old tactics.

btw, did he get through his drunk driving routine without a scratch?

8. Grandpapppy said "Don't ride on your name." WTF!!
Hey genius, your uncle made himself a wealthy man by doing nothing else other than riding on his name and his dad's family connections! And I suppose your father would have an easier time becoming governor of Florida if his name was "Smith" or "Fluglebinder". Surely the fact his name was "Bush" had absolutely zero to do with it. :sarcasm:

Oh and by the way, would anyone be listening to you if your name wasn't "Bush"?

I don't know how many sons Jebbie has but I have read one of them has been caught with hookers on occasion. Is this him?

15. That family has just as many skeletons
if not more, than the Kennedys. Look at Jenna and Barbara running naked in the halls of hotels in Argentina. Class act, NOT. That self-righteous game they try to play is oh so bogus if you look at the history of the BFEE.

That kid's eyes still scare me...like a crazed shark. Keep him out of politics (although I think the name of * will be mud for quite a while!)

9. He "defended an attack on his uncle's immigration policies?"
Edited on Fri Dec-08-06 11:19 PM by Fridays Child
That's what the first paragraph says.

Obviously, he did just the opposite. He defended his uncle against the attack. But, not too well, according to the woman who questioned him.

Wow. What a big surprise that he would turn out to be a mealy-mouthed, soundbite-spewing hack, just like his father and his uncle. I'm actually in favor of some form of a guest worker program but all this kid knows how to do is repeat talking points. He's about as far removed from the plight of laborers and immigrants as a person can be and still reside on this planet.

10. "portrayal of Republicans as creators of a 'culture of corruption' "
The portrayal...and the reality...

Good luck, P. Your uncle ruined your and any Bush's chances of ever getting into the White House. You might want to change your last name while you still can.

11. Typical bush speak:
'Never ride on your name,' so I'm trying to distinguish myself in business and law," Bush said.

Pure poetry

Like his job title too, how old is he, and he is VP of Charter Holdings, real estate investment co. At least it's not an oil co., no doubt tho he is on many corporate Boards around town! Yup, making it on his own already.

I don't think they will ever go away. This guy and the irritating, red headed Pierce are next in line. It's like a bad dream that keeps reoccurring and you can't stop it.
