Bush:" The ISG report proves I'm right." Perhaps a psych evaluation is called for.

Bush:" The ISG report proves I'm right." Perhaps a psych evaluation is called for.
The absolute disconnect from reality is there for all to see:

The Iraq Study Group's report also explicitly endorses the strategic goal we've set in Iraq: an Iraq that can "govern itself, sustain itself, and defend itself."

I agree with this assessment.

I guess I missed the "explicit endorsement" of gwb's policies. I guess I have the dubious pleasure of watching the CEO of the country completely lose his already tenuous grip on reality.

2. I guess he skipped the opening paragraph.
The administration has decided that reframing the report is easier than revisiting the policy in Iraq. No surprise.

5. It's funny, I just read this and then saw your post. It's excellent, and the first person
observations are chilling.

The entire article is stunning and spot on...from the frat boy to man of deep faith personality, the utter inability to comprehend the damage he's done and the behind the scenes machinations of the cabal. Brilliant. MKJ

6. Thank you
Being a recovering alcoholic with 20 years sobriety I have understood for some time that Jr. is a dry drunk and that is an extremely dangerous thing to have at the helm. Particularly in these last two years as things start to go against him it is hard telling what he could do as he feels more and more cornered and unimportant.

4. He also thinks he served honorably in the military
that he is a good christian, that his business dealings at Harken were honest and above board. He, and most importantly his supporters, are scum of the fucking earth. Our kids are dying because of his incompetence and their pride.

If not, perhaps he should start drinking again.

12. But why did the ISG hand him these quotes to "cherry-pick"?
>>>I agree with this assessment. I was also encouraged that the Iraq Study Group was clear about the consequences of a precipitous withdrawal from Iraq. The group declared that such a withdrawal would "almost certainly produce greater sectarian violence" and lead to "a significant power vacuum, greater human suffering, regional destabilization, and a threat to the global economy." The report went on to say, "If we leave and Iraq descends into chaos, the long-range consequences could eventually require the United States to return."<<<
